The Butler County Sheriff could make up the difference by enforcing traffic laws and increasing the number of tickets written. People don't stop at red lights nor respect speed limits anymore. Fine them, fine them and fine them some more until they do.

There is a very easy way to deal with crime with less cops. US AS CITIZENS HAVE TO STOP TOLERATING CRIME. Very easy. Let there be punishment for crime. Why do we have 50,000 people in ohio prisons? Because we allow them to commit crime again and again. We as a society would be better offer without them. You commit a crime, you kill, rape, steal, then we dont need you in this world. That will slow down crime rate.

The good sheriff could concentrate on doing the job he directed by law to do and leave the enforcement of immigration to the federal government and save money. The good sheriff is more concerned about being on TV and radio than doing his job. He lays off road patrol and detectives but never cuts his administrative staff.

The Butler County jail is filled with child support offenders and illegal immigrants. The illegal immigrant crack-down started after some very seriuos crimes were commited here by some of them, including rape of a child. I'm not sure how it is in other counties or states but when you go to court here over child support isues, your fate is decided before you even step into the courtroom in the juvenile courts. It's not all Sheriff Jones fault and you can't blame it all on crime, most people don't see speeding as a crime anyway. It's accepted criminal behaviour. When taking my children to school next to the juvenile courts and children services buildings I often saw the people who worked at these places speeding through the school zone, way in excess of the posted 20 mph. Butler County and the City of Hamilton are real bad about certain peoples sliding by the law.
