Apparently it is, I see no signs anywhere for the challengers. |

This election has me scratching my head. It represents one of the first times in years that the township trustees are running unopposed yet none of the candidates have developed websites, informational fliers, or brochures to explain why they are the best choice for office.
Admittedly I don't know township politics (if there are any to begin with) but it appears that the current trustees (McDonald and Wade) are doing a good job, they haven't asked for new tax money for quite awhile despite the growing nature of the township. Also, I have never heard of the challengers, they don't seem very involved with the area. |

2 I heard that Dale Lamb, the trustee not running was in the city of Springboro, stopping at a business who had two city candidates signs in his window. Lamb alledgedly told the business owner that it would not be good for his business. Actually, Lamb ought to mind HIS OWN BUSINESS. BTW, there are 2 other cnadidates challenging the incumbents, but don't seem to be actively campaigning. |

2 FINDING NUMBER 2007-001 Noncompliance Citation Ohio Rev. Code,§ 2921.42(A)(1), provides no public official shall knowingly authorize, or employ the authority or influence of the public official’s office to secure authorization of any public contract in which the public official, a member of the public official’s family, or any of the public official’s business associates has an interest. Ohio Rev. Code,§ 102.03(D), provides that no public official or employee shall use or authorize the use of authority or influence of office or employment to secure anything of value or the promise or offer of anything of value that is of such character as to manifest a substantial and improper influence upon the public official or employee with respect to that person’s duties. The Township employees receive health insurance from the Ohio Insurance Services Agency, Inc. A Township Trustee is President of a local insurance agency. The Vice President of that local insurance agency receives payment from the Ohio Insurance Services Agency, Inc. for duties performed for the Township, while also in the employ of the Trustee’s insurance agency. Another employee of the Trustee’s insurance agency also performs services for the Ohio Insurance Services Agency, Inc. The Township paid $666,370 in 2007 and $584,647 in 2006 to the Ohio Insurance Services Agency, Inc. The Trustee approves the monthly payment of Township bills at the Trustees meetings. This matter will be referred to the Ohio Ethics Commission. |

2 To me, if you steer a contract to your own business, you are not "honest and honorable". "Ethically challenged" is probably the most politically correct term for this behavior. |

My question is what are the two people running against Wade and McDonald going to do different with the township? Absent any plans detailing how they would run the township I have a hard time voting for them. With the current crop we know what we are getting.
Do any of the candidates have websites for this election. I googled Chrisman and he had one for Lebanon BOE but not for Township Trustee. |

2 Ever think that they may be friends and he was not wearing a trustee hat but a friend hat? I guess you think that once people get elected to public office they are no longer to have friendships and other relationships? My goodness. |

1 Actually it is a well known fact that Dale is a little slow on the uptake, and basically is a lackey for Wade and Mc Donald. When was the last time you saw Wade of Mcdonald soil their hands doing their own dirty work? The answer is never. I almost feel sorry for Lamb. |

It's fact - not gossip. It was in the last audit report and was sent to the Ohio Ethics Commission.

I'm still confused... if the current township Trustees are so bad, why aren't the challengers doing more to speak of their experience and why they are qualified for the position? As I said before, if they aren't willing to fight/work for the position, I don't think they are worthy of my vote. I still have not seem any literature, website, etc. displaying their platform.
Also, my understanding of the Wade Insurance/Township issue was that the township though advice of an attorney, believed that there was not a conflict of interest because of the lower rate Wade Insurance provided versus other insurance companies. However the State Auditor was uncomfortable with the practice at which the Township discontinued it. The reason the Ohio Ethics Commission has not brought the issue up yet is that no clear violation was committed. Finally, why are people going after Dale Lamb? He isn't even running for office this cycle! |
||||
The only good news in town is the fact an underdog in the township race WON without so much as having signs out. There is a God !! Congratulations to the lady. |
||||
Dale Lamb's cycle will be over sooner than you think...can't wait. |
