I dont want to live in place where police take every MINOR infraction of the law and blow it up to something much bigger. No I'm not going to leave, I want them to leave. Its un-American the way they treat the citizens of Springboro. As for the drinking, I'm not talking about "Drinking and Driving" I'm talking about clowns like Officer Don "Mr. Creepy" searching Facebook and Myspace for anything he can get on any of us, especially underage teens with pics of them drinking. You havent been unfairly accused by SPD, but if that should happen, you may see things a bit different. SPD is out of control. Again we make their job easy, and they still instist on harrasing the very good people of Springboro. As for Hawk, there still may be hope for him, but he really needs to start being his own man. Anderkin treats him like a lap dog. Anderkin will get fired - those wheels are already turning. I just hope when he does the other officers will get the message. They a very cushy job, and Springoro residents will have the final say on who stays and who goes. SPD MUST GO!!! Lawabiding citizen wrote: <quoted text> Like it or not, thanks to MADD and others, teen drinking and drunk driving laws have gotten tougher everywhere. This is not a Springboro PD thing. It happens everywhere. I too got caught drinking by the cops when I was young and the cops took my beer (probably took it for themselves) and sent me home with a stern warning that if they saw me out again that night I was going to get busted. I don't know of ANY cops that do this anymore due to society getting tougher on drinking. And... based on my knowledge, Bryan Hawk is a pretty good cop. From what I have seen he takes his job very serious and does a good job. And before you make the comment, I am not Bryan, a relative or friend of Bryan's or another cop. Unrelated question... I saw something in the DDN that referred to OFFICER Lisa Walsh rather than DETECTIVE Lisa Walsh. Did she get demoted or was that just a typo? If you or your kids don't break the laws, the cops won't be a problem for you. If you do, expect to pay the penalty.

I don't know about the rest of the Springboro police but Anderkin is a bad seed. And I happen to like Officer Don. I have kids in the schools and he seems like a good guy to me. Anderkin is the only police officer I've ever had a bad experience with in my whole life, and I've been around a while. Did not get in trouble with him, just shocked at his tactics. He definitely seems arrest happy. The sooner he is gone, the better.

Refomer wrote: Can you read? Who said anything about hanging out "in every bar" "on a regular basis"??? You are absolutely correct!!! The "Jerk Cycle" must be broken!! So lets band together and clean up Springboro Police Department. Oh wait - you meant the people of Spingboro are jerks?? Thats the cycle you want to break? Hmm???? When I was growing up - cops caught us drinking - they simply made us poor everything out and go home. Most people have had the same exact experience growing up. But not Springboro - their attitude is: lets arrest everyone, take them to jail, call their parents, cause major legal fees etc etc. In case youre not getting my point - police MUST exercise discretion. Spingboro Police are bored, they dont have enough real crime to deal with, THANKS to the law abiding citizens of Springboro. So this the thanks we get for being good people, a police department that insists on bullying us. You would think that SPD would be grateful that we make their job so easy and safe, guess not. <quoted text> I am not being argumentative here. I was just curious if you had some sort of a for instance... I haven't had an issue with "unfairness". I know that it exists. I'm not taking up for the police but if you are going to make claims, have some instances to speak of. As for my comment about hanging out in every bar in town, I copied a quote from you on Sep 28th, "And lets be honest, you may be a SP Officer or very close to one. Your comments DO NOT reflect how the community feels. Want to hear some stories? Start hanging out at Roosters, Campionis, The Springs, BW3. You will get an ear-full." That is where my comment came from. Of course you are going to get an ear-full from a crew hanging at the bars. I would hope that any claim would be from an intelligent stand point and not from a drunkened one.

are you folks totally blind? check spd's traffic ticket numbers over the last few months. SPD is in serious trouble because the city manager made some serious mistakes and put the city under water. the call was sent down to the chief to have the officers write more traffic tickets to bring revenues up. has anyone noticed that people who would have never been cited for a minor violation before are now being cited? Wanna cry and say its not true because traffic ticket fines don't go to the city? TRY AGAIN, that applies to county and municipal courts not mayor's courts. the city pockets all the fines. Revenue enhancement is underway and you are all now paying for the new city building which is not paid for. anyone from city counci wanna dispute this? I keep real numbers, attend every meeting, know every cop, and during the election I will expose everything. Change is coming very very soon. I know that blogs dont seem to bother you but they soon will. Oh, and by the way, Chief Kruithoff..........Go serve your sentence in federal prison for wire tapping that you avoided by getting hired here please. Anyone who doesn't believe that please google JEFF KRUITHOFF CROOKED

Im not going to be specific - as I dont want to identify myself. The bar comment is simply. The places I mentioned are those where you will find Springboro residents. Do you think everyone in Campionis is drunk? Roosters? Bw3's? The Springs is a bad example - I'll give you that. Lets be real. Residents are sick and tired of this department. Typical Complaints are: physical abuse, illegal detention, vocal intimidation, illegal patrol tactics, lack of discretion to name a few. Bring in Sheriff or get rid of the current Chief. as with uptic of police (bad)behiavor, once a police officer crosses the line of what is procieved as his duties, then that individual ceases as a repersentive of the law, and action must be taken by the citizen/remember aim for head and outer limbs/we are fast becomming a police state

I have had several run ins with the Springboro Police. My experience wasn't all that bad. No I wasn't dealing crack, but smaller violations (Curfew violation, speeding, etc). In all instances I was not cited. Their manner was very professional. As a juvenile, I feel their main concern was lecturing me. Trust me--I got an ear-full. I use to be on the same line as many people. "Oh the Springboro police department don't have enough to do" or "Oh the Springboro Police are nothing compared to the real cops like Dayton police and Cinci Police." Go to the station and ask to do a ride-along. They offer them. From someone who listens to the police scanner, we DO have crime in the city. Go to the springboro website and look at the crime statistics. Grant it we don't have as much as Dayton, but enough where we need the police. The SPD may like targeting the speeders on Remick, Lytle Five Points, 73, 7-41, wherever they might be. Howevever, those traffic stops help deter crime. I have friends who will say, "Man, I'll take the long way around before I go through Springboro at 3AM...those cops will stop me" Something is working...

I say we get rid of the corrupt SPD Supervisors (ie. Kruithoff,Parker, Thompson, Pozzuto) and 99% of your problems will be gone! Yes, some of those guys are hot heads (usually the newbies) but proper SUPERVISION corrects that problem. If you're a parent and you let your child screw up without showing him any better that child will continously screw up without fear of penalty. However, if the parent nips it in the bud from the get-go, those problems will usually cease..and if they don't, a little punishment will more than likely fix it all. The repeat offenders or bad seeds...would be gone. But hey...this is only my opinion...

Dear Reformer, Please go see your procto;ogist because your full of it. He can get you regular again. The Police do not have to have any lights lit when running radarn as long as they are not on the travelled portion of the roadway. It's no uncommon for aperson with analcohol problemto diefrom anuerism, and yes he would be dead before hittng the ground. Unlike someone that is beat to death who would actually fall to the ground, still alive for several minutes before dying. It's apparent that you are only one of those smucks that need a little extra police itervention in you worthless life. It's people like you that cause a myriaed of problems, use up valuable resources and then whine like a little baby

hay lawabiding drive thru Springboro do every thing with in the law and you still may be pulled over for a reason that just happens to be in the cops head. As they have stated to people of our city, We don't need a reason we can do as we please. He will degrade you and find a reason to ticket you if not arrest you. They ARE out of control.

My son was driving through Springboro to come and see me. He was pulled over because they said he didn't use his right turn signal. Call in dogs and about 4 police cruisers. He was treated like a criminal for a traffice violation. He came back to see me last night and the same thing happened but this time they said he made too much of a loop in his left turn. Again six police cruisers, dogs, etc. Taking up two hours of his time. Can someone please let me know if you think we have a case against the police dept. Are all people treated this way over a simple traffic violation...trumped up ones at that. If they are in such need of money why do they have six cruisers out on a Sunday at 1:00 in the morning with dogs? Can someone please give me some advice?
