Guess I'll have to send an email to Dettwiller to find out the answer.

1 I doubt they were ALL paid. I do recall it being mentioned at a BOE meeting a few months ago that many of the delinquent/late fees had been paid. You would need to check with Mr. Dettwiller for more specific numbers. |

Don't make idiotic assumptions, SIM. Obviously you didn't read that I have always paid my fees on time. I asked because I don't like being asked to pass a levy when many, many people were not paying their school fees last year, therefore my tax dollars had to pay for them. I believe the figure quoted by Dettwiller was 48% of students had unpaid fees at the high school. 48%! And I'm betting many probably came from well to do families. We are not in the upper tiers of Springboro housing or income. As a matter of fact, my husband lost his job earlier this year, and when he was lucky enough to finally get one again, it was a large pay cut. So yes it is my business if others are not paying their fees. Perhaps you have plenty of money to spare. We do not.
And for the record, our older model cars are fully paid off. And we don't have more house than we can afford, unlike some people. We ALWAYS pay our bills on time. |

1 Fee Payer, you said you had paid on time but you had not paid them this year. School has started. Report cards on coming out. I think that means your fees are overdue - therefore you're part of the 48% that you find so insulting and irresponsible. While I sympathize with your financial situation I disagree that we should all sit back and wait to see what everyone else has done before we do the right thing. The right thing is paying our fees and expecting everyone else to do the same. You sound as if you're living within your means and making good decisions. However, school fees should be treated like your house or car payment. It's a debt you owe with a due date. When we don't pay our fees the schools, taxpayers, and kids are impacted. |

1 HIGH SCHOOLERS JUST GOT THEIR FEE INVOICE ABOUT A WEEK AGO!!! You must not have a high school student - the school waits till the deadline to drop/change classes has ended and then determines the fees due. So, WOW, I've had the invoice for a whole week - ooh, I'm delinquent! And I believe it was this past SPRING when Mr. Dettwiller said people had not paid their fees, i.e. the school year was almost over! I only asked a simple question. Since it sounds like you just like to argue and act like you are better than me, I'm not going to waste more time on this subject, but you probably can't resist. |
