Just received our water/sewer bill,$24.00 increase!!! They are making it harder and harder to stay in Springboro. Even IF you can sell your home, who can afford the cities utilities? They are supposed to rise again next year to about $113.00!!!

Why weren't they adding in an extra $5-$10 a month to the annual automatic increases years ago? That would have been another $60-$120 a year to pay for the improvements per household. That certainly would have put a small dent into the debt. At least then there would of been a hedge against these price shocks. Springboro may be a nice town but they have crappy planners!!!!

I got a bill for 71.00....and that is a 1 person household. In protest, on the memo line of my check where it says for......I wrote WATER PIRATES.

Yep...and I encourage folks who write checks for their water bill to do the same...On the check in the lower left hand corner stating...For or memo...write in WATER PIRATES

Let's face it, we are not paying for water we are paying for salaries and pensions for PERS employees. Water is not that expensive in itself. Furthermore, maybe the city government could get creative and combine services with Franklin and Clearcreek Township.........but wait that would mean they would lose their cooshy jobs!!! That isn't gonna happen. Everyone else in this country has had to do more with less, why can't Springboro? A lot of waste in this town. Time to tighten up the belts !!! Need to run the city like they would run their households which i venture to say is lean. It is amazing that since the school levies can't get passed that the buses to the high school are running again!!! It's amazing what a little creative accounting can do. Hate to see anyone lose their jobs due to cuts, but there are retraining options out there. I had to do it, so can they !!!

Far too long folks have been concentrating on the school levies, and ignoring the steadily increasing bills coming out of the city, while council and city mgt get salary increases

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Pisces

There's a clash today between the past and the present. Someone wants to dwell nostalgically on the good old days but someone else is determined to forget all that and only concentrate on the here and now. The trouble is that neither side will want to concede to the other person's point of view, leading to bad feelings and upsets. If you are one of these people, try not to be too entrenched in your own opinions.
