My husband and I recently added a new puppy to the family, but we both work in Nashville and would like to hire a dog walker to come in and play with him/walk him once during the day.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

You really want to trust someone to come in your house while you're away? That's ballsy :P

Anyway, I'm not sure of one. have you tried googling for some around this area?
Hell, maybe even ask your vet..?

Not to judge you or be ugly, but why get a dog knowing you don't have that much time to spend with it?

Go to Nashville Pet Products on Hwy 31 in Spring Hill and ask for Stephanie. She does exactly what you are asking for and is great at it. Nashville pet is in the same mall as Starbucks.

I guess you're a little too simple minded to know that many dog walking services have access to your home in order to be able to walk your dog, thereby leaving your valuables at risk.
Here's your sign!

Wow, people on this forum are very hateful at times. Not you, Kay -- but I can't believe that asking a simple question would open up such a can of worms. I didn't think it was a forum for that sort of thing, but moving on...

Anyway, to address your question, Kay:

We have plenty of time to spend with our dog. Yes, we work 8 hours a day, but we're home the rest of the time, including weekends. Can you tell me what pet owner DOESN'T work? We simply choose to provide our dog with perks -- he goes to daycare one day a week and we also pay to have someone come in and walk him around lunchtime each day, since we can't make it home for that one. There are also days that he gets dropped off at my mom's house in Franklin (where his brother lives) and gets to play all day -- even including swimming in their pool.

We take weekend trips with the dogs in our RV -- camping, hiking, etc.

We take him to the dog park in the evenings and on weekends, as well.

So, I'm not sure I understand your point, Kay. Because we each have FT jobs...we're not good pet owners? I disagree.

Thanks, everyone. For the record, we have found a great service listed with Pet Sitters International.

Have a great day!

Kristen, I take back what I said before. In your initial post, I assumed you both had demanding jobs and couldn't walk him/play/etc. I apologize.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Gemini

Beware of taking on too much because it will be an effort to get through it all. You might even have to give up the unequal struggle, which won't do much for your ego or your reputation. Be especially careful about this if you're at work because a certain person may try to take advantage of what they see as your weakness or failure to deliver the goods.
