Shops are closing left and right, but there's hope if the local people would actually exert some effort in supporting local businesses. It's start with knowing what stores are around. It's sad to know that there are businesses that have been established years ago and yet people are still not aware of their existence. Why not spend a day just to go around town and check out the different businesses. You might be missing out on savings on gas or local hospitality.

Few of my favorite shops are Alternative Health Products(health food store)on Main Street, Pampered Pet Resort(grooming&boarding for dogs&cats)on Tom Lunn Rd,Perry's(home decor)on Main St. too, & Asuka(japanese resto)near Campbell station.

What's your favorites? maybe we can help each other find an old or new store to support.

First of all Asuka doesn't have another restaurant to compete with so if they are closing...its only because they aren't that great. My husband prefers Peters in Bentwood. They have better sushi.

Perrys is not great either. I keep going but never seem to find anything worth buying.(Even when her shop was at a different location.)

I have lived here long before any of these shops were here. When it was just the Kroger.(the empty one).

I'm glad to see progress in this town. I no longer have to drive to Franklin to do my shopping.

I try supporting small shops but seem disappointment. For example, Utopia Coffee. Great coffee but the place is gross. They need to pay a cleaning service to clean the place. If they cleaned the place and repaired the building, it wouldn't look and feel so gross.

I'm not so sure why you have a negative outlook to progress. Maybe you owned a shop that is losing business to a new shop. If so, you should check out the competition and see why your losing business.

I support all shops regardless. Equal opportunity shopper.

i do not own a shop; i'm just a customer like you. everything has its cost; better service requires more expense but it's easier to give it when there's customers to serve, i think.

Daily Horoscope for November 20

Cancer

Today's heat can be positively channelled into passionate embraces or wasted on a ridiculous argument - take your pick. Your partner could be itching to start a fight, but if you've been paying attention, you'll know how to diffuse this time-bomb. With a little tender loving care and patience, you can turn the tiger into a pussycat.
