If ex-president Mauck would have stopped patting himself on the back long enough he might have been able to see people were very unhappy with his politics! Using his family as an excuse to quit just about tops the charts for how low he is willing to stoop.

Grant money runs out and there will be bills to be paid. We will pay them. I hope whomever takes over realizes West York is a small community and should merge police and fire departs between W. Manny and York City. That is the best possible hope for all things to run smoothly and budget minded.
I hope for the best for Mr. Mauck.
I hope for the best for West York and our citizens.

We worked together and got into a disagreement where you said you were going to ask for someone's resignation. I told you it wasn't going to be mine because I am not a quitter. The things I did were for the community and not for myself. WTFEM

As a taxpaying citizen of W. Manny, no thanks...join forces with the York City Police...as their problems are moving west. We already have way to many of THEM in W. Manny!

Yeah, I agree with the above poster! We in the township want absolutely nothing to do with that s--- hole you call west york borough!! I mean how the heck can you people drive around your borough and be actually proud of what was once the community to live in back in the 50's??? I bet your towns forefathers are rolling in their graves as we speak!!!

Just when it seemed that your council was trying to turn things around too!! Now, that apparently has ended and the fighting and squabbling will begin!!!

Shades of Red Lion and Wrightsville!!

I bet that even York City wants nothing to do with that hellhole now!!!

What is it with these little boroughs in York County being run and mismanaged into the ground??? WHile the townships continue to grow and prosper!!!

Your residents cannot be that STUPID??? Or is just that you have too many council members??? Too many personalities and too many agendas?

Well, at least us smart people have something to read in the YDR besides homicides in the city, swine flu and rehashed asinine stories about the 1969 city riots!!!

Jeeeeeeesh!
Thats funny

When your house burns to the ground due to the fact west manny is failing there fire calls and York city is already busy burning down a row home. Or your house is being broken into and the city has a 20min ETA and west mannys police are busy with securing there evidence locker. And you care about saving a buck or 2. Public safety is the most important thing this Borough needs. Do your research on public safety. Getting rid of these departments would put our public at risk. High risk. I have a child in this borough and if something would happen to him. Do to the lack public safety. Are you willing to give your real name. Ebay those cars.I think not!

What most people don't know is he would have been ousted any way. His fellow council let him leave with his dignity. What did he do but tried to belittle them all. In the end he looked the fool. By using the excuse it was because of his family is what I said was as low as you could go. Then to top it all he was spending boro money without any one knowing about it. This is what I mean by LOW. I never said he didn't accomplish good things. They were put on the back burner when he tried running his dictatorship. Look at what he did to his new council member. He forced her to second a motion she didn't know anything about.

I attended several community functions and events. It was easy to spot FORMER President Mauck because all the "lay" people were flocked around him to thank him, shake his hand. So what i want to know is what people? Republicans? Biggots? Hipocrits?

Oh really...Mr. Wilson or is it Ms. Wilson? People knew about it they just didnt want to admit it esp Mr. Wilson! Further....He is the only one that did anything...Most of you 6 that remain including that blow hard Wilson there all voted with him? Most to busy try to gain power? Mr. Wilson are you going to let Sam setup acounts for the borough and spend money like he did before without authority....hum...sounds like a good idea! Get a life! West York is back to what it always was now that change and progress is dead....a dump and a ghost town. The council members being the most scarry! Laird approved banners without approval from anyone else? Purchase of roofing materials for the parks when it could have been donated? The cars once exchanged for cash would not have been a purchase...no debt....Go do something productive instead of your 6 party backstabbin fests

He bought toys people, toys. He didnt pocket the money, he didnt steal it from a church ---like some else on the council has allegedly done. Did he act before thinking it thru, maybe. But his heart and ideas were in the right place. If people could take a step back and think out side the box a little-- I saw morale boost, comunity support, from those die cast models. That is what West York is missing, oh and now a president that has the balls to make decisions that no one else would make or CARED to make. Dont Mistake that for dictatorship. Heck, he should have bought die cast firetrucks too! Imgine the litte kids running around with borough police cars playing and telling people, "when i grow up I want to be a West York Police Officer or a West York Firefighter"

Amen! That is the truth. Everyone wanted to be there when he brought in the money in or change or help...they all wanted credit too...esp Mr. Wilson...but they never had much to offer and certainly never really did anything!!!. They just rode on his coattails. Fact is he is a big fish in a very tiny toxic pond. Filled with closeminded people! Im glad he is a family man and not a back stabber like the other 6 and that do nothing mayor! Oh and don't forget Tim Hunter the guy that got paid for meetins he never attended!

Hey Tim, If you and Mayor Firestone (father-in-law) gave back the money you stole from the taxpayer for not doing your job over the last 20 months it would be in the tune of over $4000 dollars. Hummm...I got an idea give the money back you were paid to do a job you never did....

I just want to say this...West York lost not just a great mind and public servent Monday....but West York lost one of the most loving and kind man I know! He always cared for others more than his self. He never asked for a thank you and many times went without! He helped people that the other 6 council people forgot about or really didnt care about. He brought diversity to a place that was like flour.....dry...dead and bland. I will miss the guy who got the job done and had a heart. I saw Former President Mauck pay for recycle bins for families who couldnt. I saw him donate his time. He listened to the peopel and then got it done...He made sure peopel kept their jobs....sure donesnt sound like a bad guy to me....sounds like he was the last best friend the borough had on coucil....the rest clueless!

I will use my real name because I am not worried about what anyone thinks. My son did decide to leave because of his family. He did it because my wife and I are not well, something that no one has known until now. The most important reason is that he has a son that needs him now more than ever. All of you think that you know but you don't.
I will say to Mr. Wilson that at least you have completed something. You have had a desire to be in the throne for a long time. You and your wife have said some harsh words, not only about my son but about others that you pretend to befriend. I hope that you do well Mr. Wilson. Make sure that you spend as many hours working for West Your as my son did. We will see how long you are allowed to sit in the seat. Many people have known you intentions for a long time. I hope that your new agenda takes care of you. At least our police and firemen have a job for the five years of their contract. This is something that we are very proud of. And for all of you, My son has done more for West York in 18 months than anyone has done in the past forty years. God Bless you Shawn. We love you.

OHhhh you must be the youngest person on here...about 2yrs old. i assume lol! Im one of those people that moved from WY about four years ago when the firestone clan was running things....That was a time when the mayor thought he ran council...he was as slow and absent minded as they come and still is. He is the most mean spirited peopel i know. With all the goodthings that changed in the last two years I was proud WY was comin along...proud to say i grew up there on highland ave. The clueless 6 will prob put that idot steve herman back on the board. then you can call it the clueless do nothing seven! With them in charge now WY will be like hummpty dumpty....all wilson council dummies and all wilsons firestone clan wont be able to keep WY from falling apart again!

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Sagittarius

Mercury turning retrograde in your house of finances carries a rather unseasonal message, because it's telling you to pay attention to your finances over the next few weeks. If you already know that you've overspent this month, you won't need to be told that a few economies are just around the corner. Get the facts straight and pay attention to the small print. You may also have to make some adjustments to an intimate relationship so it can move into another phase.
