How is it right that you include Copp's name as the victim yet do not release the name of the deputy pulling the trigger?

When you deal in drugs you put yourself in these situations. The shooting may or may not be excessive, but getting shot as a result of drugs is not. If he never messed with drugs he never would have been shot.

Does that apply to speeding too? If I never speed I won't get pulled over and risk getting shot when I lean over to get my registration and proof on insurance from my glove compartment? I can't believe you have such faith in a government institution that you would never question shooting an unarmed citizen.

What a crock Rich, that's like saying if that person would have never have drank that bottle of booze then he never would have shot all those people then committed suicide. You hear of more people dieing from alcohol related crimes like drinking and driving or domestic violence than you do from marijuana. Maybe what we need to do is legalize Pot and criminalize liquor.

Everyone is entitled to due process, even the officer who did the shooting. However, if Mr.Copp was unarmed, I believe that the Ottawa County Sheriff has some explaining to do and the County could be liable for a lawsuit. Granted, officers risk their lives daily to protect us and, when threatened, have to rely on instinct and good judgement to protect themselves.

If Mr. Copp was not armed with any weapon, but the officer still felt threatened, why wasn't physical force used to subdue Mr. Copp? I'm sure that the officer was not alone in the alleged drug bust. My thoughts and prayers go out to both victims here.

Drugs, drugs, drugs...this is what everyone is focusing on. Here's the point, and this is important so try to pay attention, IF HE COMMITTED ANY CRIME INVOLVING DRUGS, HE WOULD'VE BEEN ARRESTED. IF HE HAD A GUN OR ANY OTHER WEAPON, HE WOULD'VE BEEN ARRESTED. He wasn't and still hasn't been. Is the OCSD throwing him a bone because they screwed up? If I were a police officer and didn't do anything wrong, I would be talking to everyone I could to clear things up. Why isn't this officer doing so?

Forget about paying for this. I am glad I don't live in a county where the local yokles break in your home and shoot you!

How do these videos shed any light on a shooting of an unarmed student? Even if the drug bust was justified the assumption that the use of deadly force is permissible is sickening. This is a grossly irresponsible headline.

Yup! That cop was probably trigger happy and thought he saw a gun in the heat of the moment. The OCSD knows they messed up...big time, otherwise they and the cop in question would/should be defending themselves better!

Imagine, you hear crashing through the doors and lights shine in your eyes, it is instinct to put your hand up to your eyes to shield them from the light. Think they will settle for 8 million bucks?

Did they release the name of the cop who shot & killed Olbert? I wonder when they will disclose the identity of the shooter in this incident. I am surprised the media doesn't seem more interested in identifying the two shooters in these two incidents

More wasted taxpayer money. Let the kid smoke pot in his apartment. Now the taxpayers are on the hook for a big settlement..

here is my chance!!!!!
this time it is a white dude, who is a hippy drug smoker!!!
so who is paying for this low life to smoke his way through college.
White kid, oh, but he his just being a kid, whatever!!!!!!!!!! the investigation will show, shooting was justified
my thoughts go out to the police involved, not some spoiled kid who has nothing better to do than to post videos about drugs!!!!!!!!!!
The police have to deal with bs like this daily, put yourself in there shoes, raiding a known drug apartment, and someone raises their hand, bam, he did the right thing!!!!

also, Big Daddy you are about as insightful a blind bird watcher. You know what happens when you assume things about people don't you? you end up shooting them in the chest. Derek was not a rich spoiled kid. I don't know if you you can read but i would suggest looking into some "articles" yeah i know it sounds hard but i have faith in you. The kid worked his life away at a pizza place, and lived in the cheapest apartments on campus. Sounds pretty spoiled to me.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Leo

Be choosy about who you spend time with today. If you're with someone who's habitually miserable or sorry for themselves, you'll soon be dragged down to their level and will struggle to recover again. However, you may feel such sympathy for their plight that you don't see you have any choice but to be with them. If so, do your best to remain positive.
