Klamath Tribes Travel Center Plans

CHILOQUIN, OR. The Klamath Tribes held a General Council meeting today to review plans for an upcoming $4 million dollar combination Truck Stop and Convenience Store - what the tribes are calling a Travel Center. The meeting was official with a full quorum. A motion was passed to enable the tribes to sell Tobacco and Alcohol at the new Travel Center which is currently scheduled to break ground in early July 2009. The biggest item for discussion was whether to use the monies that would be distributed to tribal members as "per capita" for the financing of the Travel Center. Last year, as some may recall, the General Council agreed to this same allocation but for casino expansion. The amount allocated in 2008 was $800,000. When asked what happened to that money, since the casino did not expand, KTEDC member Vivian Kimball replied "It's gone!"

We need to call - all tribal members need to call in to the office and demand that Brandie Decker provide us with a paper trail for that $800,000. There is no reason that we should not hold Tribal Council accountable for this since they were the ones overseeing these committees at the time that they were given this money!

I would suggest tribal members demand also to see an accounting of TOTAL funds generated by the casino not just the ones they want you to see. Some peeps would be shocked to see the amounts from daily machine totals.I agree some of the higher up's need to be held accountable and prove where this $$$$is going. You can only go to so many trainings Also demand to see the perks and wages of the 10:00 to 4:00 supervisors who don't work weekends and eo on fridays. Maybe Federal warrents would help? Isn't stealing spelled the same no matter who you are?

fedup ndn 2 hits it on the head! The higher up's need to be held accountable and prove where $$$$is going! Let us see the perks and wages of he 9:00 to 3:30 supervisors who don't work weekends and eo on fridays! Federal Warrants Would Help expose stealing! Stealing is spelled the same no matter who you are! THAT has been exposed and tried in federal courts to stand up with NIGC backings to prove that unqualified managers have always ripped off tribal casinos across America with working less than 40 hour work weeks but getting paid salaries that they only worked 32 hour work weeks!! We're getting ripped off, and our per-caps are now non-existent to fill the pockets of the managers who fill out their time sheets to gain 40 hours of work with only 32 hours of work! With thousands leading up to millions that could lead to real tribal per-caps, we have to suffer because we have incompetent managers who are only there to draw fat paychecks while they kiss our asses trying to show that they are qualified, yet they beg us not to take a per-cap for expansion funding?! Wake up and smell the coffee!! Become your own worth and generate us all a per-cap that then proves that you know what the F u are doing for us, rather than just drawing a fatty paycheck for yourself so you can live your dreams, and leaving the rest of us out of it all! MAKE ME MY PER-CAP!!! MAKE IT!!! quit blowing smoke and Make Me My Per-Cap so I can vote to keep you in your casino management position!!! F your salary if we have to pay you more! Make me a bigger per-cap!!!! PER-CAP!!!!!!!!! PER-CAP!!!!!!! Make it for me!!!!! F your salary, your big house, and your fancy Ride!!!

I wanted to let people know that as it stands tribal members should be getting our percapita payment the third Friday in June for a little over 200.00. Another subject that came up by Duke Kimbol was corrupt dealings by Jeff Mitchell. Shortly after being told that he needs to start talking, he vacated the meeting making him look mighty fishy! No time like the present to come clean, better in front of General Council than before a FEDERAL judge! Tribal Council is supposed to expose corruption and they are not above the law when it comes to embezzlement and prosecution. We have our constitutional rights that Tribal Council chooses to hold from us every chance they get. They are also trying to change our petition process because they would like to be untouchable to anyone (the body of the General Council) in order to carry on with their corrupt ways and not be questioned or put out of commission. "Out of order", I don't think so, Joe Kirk needs to look in the mirror and check his morals, come clean, and make the other Tribal Council members follow suit. Only the truth will set us free and then we (the General Council) can feel like we are a part of the Tribes again. So Tribal Council, do what you were put there to do and start with exposing your individual participation in the corruption so we can move forward in a positive way and bless you for doing so.

Soon as a tribal member at the meeting mentioned these general council members need jail time Jeff Mitchell ran for the door a little later and scurried off. Will Hatcher is another one making all the deals with the forest service behind our backs. Go out in the woods and see what was done to the deers habitat. Find a tribal member that knows the land and ask them what Will Hatchers done. JEFF and WILL need to go!!!!!! Please tribal members wake up before they have you vote your rights away. Any deal made by Jeff or Will doesn't pass the stink test!!!!!!!!!! Tribal members that back these two need to come to reality before it's too late!!!!!!!!

If you ask me in person I will smile and laugh, holding my head in shame. To say yes I am a member of the Klamath Tribes. If there is anything in this whole world that shames me, it is our tribe.
I do not know what will stop people from steeling from our own Klamath people. Though I have a GOOD felling that calling the Federal Goverment and maybe even going on strike untill we get answers about where all of our money is going for all of the missing accounts of money. Gathering up infront of the tribal admid. Just like we do for the salamon rights held im Portland. We need to stand up for what we know is wrong, or one day there will be no more US, WE, the Klamath People.

I recall voting three times on the casino expanion and the truck stop, about 3 years or more. We were told the money was there. What happens to the millions?????? We need to recall the tribal council since they can not budget the funds were they are suppose to go. HAHAHAHAHAHAH I heard that Jeff and Will are only on the council for the money and now I hear some there took some money and everyone is covering for the person. Our officers are there to protect our tribal funds not cheat and lie. HAHAHAHAHAHAH Lets get a recall going. maybe something will be done.HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

That is a goos idea to go and picket the tribal office demanding to know where the $800,000 for expansion went. While were at it, we should drag Jeff Mitchell out along with Will Hatcher. All Will Hatcher does is act like the spy for the forest service. Jeff Mitchell is trying to sell us a piece of crap Mazama tree farm. If that goes through, we the tribal members will be told "There is your Reservation you wanted". I would rather hunt, fish, camp, and exercise my tribal rights where I do now!!!!!!!!!! JEFF, if you read this know that I don't need an EX- DRUG DEALING FELON trying to sell my rights out from under me!!!!! The ones that follow Jeff or Will are just plain ignorant, stupid, or both. How many people did Jeff pay out of pocket for votes this time? SCREW YOU AND YOUR MAZAMA TREE RIP-OFF

Tribe never gets a thing done but argue and waste. The casino expansion would not have cost the tribe a dime and the council could not deliver an agreeable effort to allow developement. The council always leaves the members with no new jobs and nothing good for our trbal people.They blame every- thing but the true problem. Lack of honest, decent leadership. The "tounge in cheek" council only wish to improve thier own individual lives. Thier own sickening selfishness, steals our freedom and ability to improve our lives. What the council doesnot steal, the new US President will steal from the people...
WHY IS THE COUNCIL SO HATEFULL TO ITS OWN PEOPLE? EASY ANSWER. GREED and POWER LUST... SICKENING AT ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNACE. Trust in INDIVIDUALs and they will destroy your SPIRIT. Finding a true leader is very difficult task. A true leader would respect the soul, spirit, life of others. WHEN $800,000 disappears and no agreements are ever reached to provide improvements for the community as a whole...THERE IS NO ONE LEADING, just theft

For tribal members, last year our percapita check was only about $32. The reason for this low amount was because Tribal Council and the Casino Board told Tribal Members that the Casino was going ahead with expansion that we have been waiting for for so long. So they asked General Council for $800,000 to jump start the funding for this expansion. As General Council has been anxious to see this happen, it was voted to give our percapita over to them. That left just enough to give us that thirty some dollars. Not even enough to pay my water bill in Chiloquin! So, somehow during the last year, this money has fallen by the wayside and the casino expansion has once again been tabled. So we were thinking that if there is no expansion, lets have our percapita back and have it distributed. But, Ms. Kimball let everyone know the money is completely gone. There was no explanation as to how the money dissapeared or what it was spent on. So now, this year, they are asking us to give the money designated as percapita distribution away again, but this time to jump start financing of the travel center. Also of note is the fact that during this same meeting, Jeff Mitchell told General Council that the Casino Board came to the 4-23-09 Tribal Council meeting and brought "Three Options" for excess casino revenue to declare. According to Mr. Mitchell, the three options were $3.7 million,$2 million, and $1 million. They ended up transfering an excess revenue of $2 million to Tribal Administration. The extra $1.7 million apparently (though no one knows for sure) was put into a fund at the casino for the purpose of snow removal and possible disaster repairs. So, out of that $2 million that was transfered over, percapita is given 40%. But, before the 40% is figured, the Member Benefits Department which is a 2 person department comprised of Mary Gentry (whose husband and daughter each make more than $50k a year for the Tribes) and an assistant takes about $200,000. This was according to Brandi Decker, Treasurer for Tribal Council. That leaves percapita being figures at 40% of $1.8 million. So this year, we decided our apx.$200.00 check would be kept by us, not trust to give it up again for nothing but padding some other persons pocket. Maybe Kathleen and Jeff Mitchell. Maybe Kathy and Nick Rich. Maybe the Gentrys. Who knows? But I think I will put up some groceries with my money. So I will be there to pick up my check the 19th of June for sure! Hope this answered your question.

I still would like to know where this and other monies have went. We have a street sweeper that facilities bought that never worked since they bought it.The casino threw away chairs that vlt manager thought were old, others were smashed by the backhoe and hauled to the metal buyers in k Falls.Where did that money go.WE advertize for free for a local towing company because he is a friend/hunting partner of Nick R.Folks we are talking of millions missing!!!!!not just 800,000. Wake up and start asking questions for Pete's Sakes

Psalm 10

1 [a]Why, O LORD, do you stand far off?
Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?

2 In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak,
who are caught in the schemes he devises.

3 He boasts of the cravings of his heart;
he blesses the greedy and reviles the LORD.

4 In his pride the wicked does not seek him;
in all his thoughts there is no room for God.

5 His ways are always prosperous;
he is haughty and your laws are far from him;
he sneers at all his enemies.

6 He says to himself, "Nothing will shake me;
I'll always be happy and never have trouble."

7 His mouth is full of curses and lies and threats;
trouble and evil are under his tongue.

8 He lies in wait near the villages;
from ambush he murders the innocent,
watching in secret for his victims.

9 He lies in wait like a lion in cover;
he lies in wait to catch the helpless;
he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net.

10 His victims are crushed, they collapse;
they fall under his strength.

11 He says to himself, "God has forgotten;
he covers his face and never sees."

12 Arise, LORD! Lift up your hand, O God.
Do not forget the helpless.

13 Why does the wicked man revile God?
Why does he say to himself,
"He won't call me to account"?

14 But you, O God, do see trouble and grief;
you consider it to take it in hand.
The victim commits himself to you;
you are the helper of the fatherless.

15 Break the arm of the wicked and evil man;
call him to account for his wickedness
that would not be found out.

16 The LORD is King for ever and ever;
the nations will perish from his land.

17 You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted;
you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,

18 defending the fatherless and the oppressed,
in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.

Our government, who tries to pretend they are the white government, are destined to be removed! They have went against out constitutional rights over and over again! If they change the petition process it will only add more power to their punch. I feel we as general council members are sick and fed up with what they have been doing in their coniving and decietful ways! We have one main family un-working in the offices and a whole slew of conflicts of interest. It is my understanding that they do not go against our constitution and by laws. They are sworn to have the tribes best interest at heart! REMOVAL is the key for general council to be recognized by our tribal government again because what we have now is "a failure to communicate" the truth! Honesty and integrity, I have yet to see by our tribal government, let alone respect for the people! We matter, without us, THERE ID NO THEM! Lets take our power back for the good of us all! THEY HAVE PROVED WHAT THEIR AGENDA IS! POINT OF ORDER!

Well, we all want to know. At least those of us who aren't trying to hide something. There is supposed to be a "special" general council meeting coming up on June 20th. Come to it. I know that the request has been made to have an accounting of that $800,000 but I am sure Chairman Kirk will call a 'point of order' and not allow the discussion.

Good job throwing down some knowledge however, there are some inconsistencies in your statement. You are pretty close to having the correct info except that it isn't $800,000 missing it's more like $2.4 MILLION!!!! The only ones who can account for that is the Board Members of EDC and KBOD.(Most have quit and new ones put in place to clean up the mess). Those are the ones we need answers from!!!

I am so appalled by what is going on with the council, i cant believe what i am hearing. I mean i am not completely stupid, of course there will be a lil corrruption, there always is. But millions of dollars???? where the hell did it go. As a tribe you have a right to have a accounding of every single penny. if they tribal council refuses, you need to call the fed government. this is going to affect more then just percap, it is going to affect the consumers of the casino. if word gets out that the casino is swindling, the players are not going to trust the machines, or the tables.... that is the bread and butter. this is all having a chain reaction, plez tribal peeps, take a stand. you are not alone, im not klamath, but i care. i will stand beside you against the unfair and unjust. take a stand, i and many others will be beside you.

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Sagittarius

After all the excitement of the past few days you're longing for the chance to put your feet up and take life easy for a while. Ideally, you should bury your nose in a good book and be left alone until you resurface for a food transfusion. But you'll also enjoy chatting to someone you know very well and for whom you don't have to make a big effort, such as a close relative.
