Attorneys for the Yankton Sioux Tribe have petitioned the state Water Management Board for a declaratory ruling on whether the new Longview Farm hog facility west of Wagner is entitled to area ground water.

I don't know why the Yankotons keep up this fight over the hog farm. They will never win. They don't know how to go about it. If this was an issue for the blacks, they know how to handle it.If it was an issue with Iraq, they know how to handle it. There would be protests, there would be bombings...there would be action taken. The Yanktons just don't know how to go about settling this issue. Period.
