maybe you have a different feed then I do... man 1/2 mile down road from car ... 5 yr old outside of car on the highway .. interesting that you find that normal... and please educate me here I thought asparagus was a very finicky plant??

I thought it was hard to grow, too, that's why it's so expensive.

This reminded me of when we were kids, many moons ago, and my mom spent a lot of time in the hospital. Our dad would take us and leave us in the car in the parking lot (I guess kids couldn't go in back then). We used to honk the horn because there were signs that said 'Quiet, Hospital Zone', then we'd duck down...You'd be nuts to do that now, too many weirdos. When my kids were young, I would take them in with me even if I was just running into the 7-11!

deb I heard that it is the third year of the plant before you can harvest???

ps my mom taught me to bend the stalks and it will break at the tender spot and the rest is hard fiber...

That's what I do, too. I just finished the last of mine, my son doesn't eat it so I get to have it all to myself!

Hi Debra, I have tried asparagus many times but still don't like it but my sister loves it. However, I do love hollandaise sauce on steak.

I have thought of leaving my kids for less than asparagus.

The fact here is that the children could've been harmed, and wasn't it nice and sunny that day? They could've been killed left in a car at a hot temp, and a 5 year old on a highway, yeah that is real safe, adn he had drugs on him, i beileve these children are better off somewere else to be well cared for.I couldn't dream of leaving my angels in a car that is a 1/2 a mile from me. That is just stupid!
