Letter to the Editor

Megyn Kelly's interview on FOX News with Wade Rathke, the 1970s founder and chief organizer of ACORN until June 2008, was enlightening. ACORN's original goal was to recruit enough people onto the welfare rolls that it would cause a financial collapse of the country. ACORN then added voter registration as a focus effort. Although ACORN has been caught filing many fraudulent voter registrations, the head people just pass it off, blaming a few bad actors. Over time they have formed and interconnected with over 200 similar-minded groups, many of which receive tax-payer dollars. Their own auditors warned that these taxpayer funds are often illegally co-mingled into non-approved uses. The now-resigned chief organizer's new mission is to foment radical change on the world stage and candidly states that yes, you should be "frightened of me". Having never heard of ACORN until this past election, I am shocked with their attitudes, aims and how successful they have been obtaining tax dollars. Who has been guarding the chicken coop all these years? Incredible.
