I was wondering if anyone heard a loud boom yesterday and then felt their house shake. It was around 1000am. Did a little research and back in October the same thing was reported in Blount County. Not sure what is was or is was just wondering if anyone else felt and heard it.

It would depend on which direction they were flying in as to who heard it and who did not. You could be correct I was just offering a possible explanation. I thought is it might have been have been a small earthquake in your immediate area but according to the USGS nothing in this area was reported

no I understand were you were coming from about the sonic boom what upset me the most was the rude comments i got on here. I did a search for what I heard and felt and come to find out they had the same thing happening in Blount County and Louisville, TN but nothing ever came of it. Another website I went to said those same sounds were reported back before the New Madrid Fault line caused a major earthquake in the 1800s. I have also read hear lately that the USGS has been reporting things then deleting them I don't know I just think its time to probe around a little more.

I know that several times a week, fighter jets fly over the southwest corner of warren co. and you get a LOUD BOOM that rattles everything.

Every university in the country with a geology department has a seismograph. Every one of those departments are headed by a Chair that survives on being published. The USGS couldn't control that information if they wanted to.
