Understanding the ugly history of racism in this country puts things in perspective, especially when Blacks view and react to situations and incidents – such as the murder of that child, Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman. And by the reaction of some racist right-wingers who find pleasure in the death of a child just because he was Black.

Decades of subliminal and blatant racism has a lasting effect that we are still dealing with today. And although the landslide election of the first Black President shows that we are well past the days of “Jim Crow”, the vitriolic hatred and racism directed towards President Obama from the right – such as the congressman who scream out “YOU LIE” at the SOTU a few years ago, and the constant replacement of the “N” word with the verbal attack of communist, Marist and socialist just shows that there is still a disgusting element that has to be eradicated and destroyed in order for this nation to fully heal from the past.

But this museum is a necessary reminder for those who want to have selective memory about this nation’s evil history.

You confuse criticism with racism. Casting a very small fringe as the "right" is nonsense just as the left has characters they do not savor.

A true balanced perspective should account for the backlash to racism, historically as well as in the trayvon case which we should remember may have had race artificially interjected:

BS as long as blacks perpetuate themselves as victims of racism all it will do is perpetuate racism.

You will never change attitudes by trying to force or shame people into believing what you think is politically correct. The only thing which will so called "heal" racism if for black people to be truly successful in their own right not because of some affirmative action program.

zimmerman was not a white guy, if he was a black guy then the truth would be known, dress like a thug, get treated like a thug...

The vast majority of salt and pepper shakers are representative of White people in ways ranging from humorous to absurd to sophisticated to using an outhouse. These Black racists don't say anything about that.

Denzel Washington owns a huge collection of racist artifacts. I own a few too. They serve as reminders of one of the great disgraces in America's past. Just like the Nazi holocaust, we must never forget.

The few (percentage wise) Black people brought to North America during the slavery years wouldn't exist if they hadn't been saved by the people buying them, clothing them, housing them and giving them productive employment. They would have been dead in Africa at the hands of Black kings selling them, or the Muslims introducing slavery for a thousand years before slavery in the West. They wouldn't exist and none of their children would exist to have 50% unemployment rates because of Communist Democrat policies using them for 157 years and keeping many in ghettos. The whole focus on discrimination against Blacks doesn't account for White people actually saving them from guaranteed death, or much worse slavery elsewhere and in some Muslim and Black countries continuing today.

Since you brought it up I find it pathetic you don't know which came first the chicken or the egg.

I can understand ancient philosophers not knowing they don't have the level of understanding we do of the origins of a species. We know that the dna in the first chicken came from the first chicken egg. We know that the donor of the first egg was not a chicken or else it would have the first chicken instead. There would have been either a mutation or a hybrid interaction of species which created the first chicken egg. In either case the donor parents while almost chickens were not chickens. We know the mutation or hybrid interaction occurred before the egg was fertilized because after the dna is fixed. So to make it personal non-marine corp pat; if you are pro life you consider the egg to be a chicken even before laid so you would have to say the egg and chicken were created simultaneously at conception and if your pro choice the egg came first but in neither case did the chicken come first so the best answer to your question is the egg came first.

I can only answer these post this way because I paid attention in school. If I were a young black kid and acted the way I did, paying attention, homework before play, conservative dress, speaking proper English in hopes of being accepted as a contributing successful member of society then I would be ostracized, ridiculed, teased, and bullied for acting too white. Hence back to the problem. Black people need to get the chip off their shoulder, work their ass off trying to be deserving of success rather demanding it as some kind of right because of what someone else did in previous generations.

If this man really wants to display the true ugly truth about racism then he needs to be accurate in his museum. He needs to include illustrations of black people enslaving other black people so black people could sell the black slaves to the Arab and Spanish slave traders in Africa. White people did not penetrate the interior of Africa until the middle of the 1800's by then a thriving slave trade had been going on for 300 years.

It is easy to shine the light on what others did or did not do but that brings no where near the change and success of turning it on yourself.
