The Human Race is a very funny illogical thing...
Kill people, NOT animals. For people are guilty, but animals are not...
Your town: Spanish Fork, UT
Friday May 2
A University of Toledo administrator is on paid leave because of an article she wrote for Toledo Free Press in April, reports News 11's Shelley Brown.
Crystal Dixon, UT's associate vice president of human resources, wrote: "As a Black woman ... I take great umbrage at the notion that those choosing the homosexual lifestyle are civil rights victims. I cannot wake up tomorrow and not be a Black woman. Daily thousands of homosexuals make a life decision to leave the gay lifestyle."
Note: she is UT's associate vice president of human resources. And now she has been placed on leave. more

1 This woman, though, has an even greater problem: She's an idiot. Anyone who still believes that gays choose to be gay is playing with a greatly reduced deck. I am especially stunned by her assertion that thousands of us choose to leave homosexuality every day. Where the hell did she come up with a figure like that?!?! Even the most rabid ex-gay practitioners claim nothing of the sort. Thousands of us each day may decide not to visit a gay bar that night, but that's as close as we come to leaving homosexuality. This woman needs a kick in the head to loosen up her thinking material. She certainly doesn't belong in an institution of higher learning...in ANY position. |

1 Good. Flap your filthy bigoted mouths as lawmakers or whatever, and lose your jobs. The days of bigotry against GLBT in America are coming to an end. Learn to embrace it now or be bitter four years from now when America is fully liberal, and you have been left in the 20th century. |

3 Okay, I'm pretty sure that this number for so-called ex-gay conversions is made up. If the "ex-gay" ministries were churning out a million people a year, I think we would have heard about it. I can see the point she is making but, if we're going to use the "ex-gay" ministries as an example of how gay people can "choose" not to be gay, I could only consider it as effective as the plastic surgeries Michael Jackson has used to appear less African-American. Those plastic surgeries are available to anyone who can afford it. By her logic, that makes being African-American NOT a civil rights issue since someone could "choose" not to be African-American anymore. |

This woman needs to be removed from her position! She believes, by way of her christian faith, that gays should not have equal rights. Well, then what about jews, muslims, hindus, other non-christians or divorced couples? Should they also be denied basic human rights according to her CHRISTIAN faith? She may try to use her bible to condemn homosexuals but, she must also acknowledge that it also condones slavery and commands women to be subservient to men!
What kind educator can she be if she has has not researched how many scientific and medical organizations have debunked the likes of NARTH, AFA and FOF from which she is obviously getting her biased opinions? |

...sigh... People believe what they want to believe, regardless of logic, reason, compassion, or any reason at all simply because it pleases them in some way. Some people you will never convince no matter how much logic, reasoning, evidence or proof you give the. Some people are just that way cuz it's human nature. I don't care what someone believes as long as they don't try to impose their beliefs on others, including me. And some prople are just proud of their stupidity and ignornce. LOL

1 The shocking part of this is that Ms Dixon was head of HUMAN RESOURCES! If she had been some obscure history researcher, then I would say that universities need to make room for all opinions and to challenge her intellectually. Where her beliefs clearly conflict with enforcing UT policy, however, suspension--even with pay--prevents her from inflicting even more damage on the community while her ability to perform her duties are re-evaluated. By the way, if she is fired, expect a very big discrimination suit from her based on both her ethnicity and her right to religious freedom and free expression. |

Amazing, just amazing,.. I wonder if she is friends with Sally Kern.
I suppose the next thing well will hear is how her freedom of speech is being infringed upon. |

1 She shouldn't be able to sue based on religious freedom or freedom of expression because, by her logic, those shouldn't be civil rights. After all, lots of people CHOOSE every day to not be Christians or to not say what she said. And, unlike being gay, that's literally true. People really do choose not to be Christian or what to say. |

1 Nobody is asking you not be black. However, it would be nice if you woke up tomorrow a SMARTER black women. Although for this to happen, you would have to do some research dear. Reading your comments, it is clear that you have not. |

She should be fired. Someone with her prejudice and ignorance should not be affiliated with an institution of higher learning. And doesn't the university realize that by having a human resources manager makes such statements that they are leaving themselves open for a ton of lawsuits?
