OBX Alert reports that George Kowalski of the Volunteer Fire Department has announced he's a write-in candidate for Councilman Brian McDonald's seat because McDonald supports Smith for mayor.
Good, we need a house cleaning. |

I'm writing in George's name when I vote.
Thankfully we now have some competition in this election. |

george who?? Who is he and what has he done. Is this a sick joke. Is this what the town is turning into? Newcomer nobody's running the town. Fools will be Fools. God help us.

Using that argument (newcomer to Town), Don should never has voted for making the present head of the planning board chairman/person/woman. But she IS a newcomer and is doing an admirable job. What is the length of time you have to reside in town before you can become involved? Answer please!!!!!!!!!! What a pitiful campaign don and his supporters are running. |

I'll answer your 7 sentences/questions. George KOWALSKI (get used to that name). You KNOW who he is, he's been actively involved in the Fire Department AND chairman of the Planning Board. He's given reports to the Council for YEARS. The sick joke is on exposing Don's lies and undermining his puppets. Is this what the town is turning into? Hopefully, getting rid of Don and his puppets, YES. Newcomer/nobody? George is neither. This sounds like your attacking Hal because of his age. VERY pathetic and indicative of Don being on the ropes. Fools will be fools? Don will be Dumbo, Stroud will be stupid, Jim and Brian will be "go along to get along", bobby will be booby, Beadle will be a gun nut, Read will be a clown, they're all fools. God help us? What? Is Dondo now trying to bring GOD into this? He's trying to portray himself as the champion of our gun rights (didn't know that was an issue in SShores) and now he invokes God? God help us if people don't vote. Now, come back with your 'vote don, Hal's too old' mantra. |

Ko-dodo, or whatever his name is, won't help us elect Hal Denny.
He votes early -- and for himself -- and then decides to become a write-in candidate for the town council. Is that the sort of dithering and self-promotion we need to bring this town back from the worst leadership in its history? Vote for Hal Denny to help us clean the mess and hard-feelings created by immature Dom Smith and his arrogant and incompetent town manager. Hal Denny for Mayor! |

Tell us how long the great george has been a full timer in SS??? think about that for a minute. We know the answer. tell us please
Remember this! At this time my vote can go either way. If you guys keep posting this romper room crap it may turn me away like you are causing others to do. Yes that means you southerngal and berrySS. GROW-UP!! You are not doing Hal any favors at all and if you think there is ANYTHING that george can do to better Hal’s campaign then you are dreaming!! |
||||
"Romper room crap?" Are you kidding? Sounds like you're the one in kindergarden. You're an angry little man (maybe?) Hal will be fine with or without your vote so maybe you should think about graduation. You're sad and pathetic. Maybe a few sessions with a professional for your anger issues would help you, OR, maybe SS is not the best place for you; ever consider moving out? We have enough whackjobs living here now, we don't need the likes of you and all your anger. Bye, bye HAL FOR MAYOR GEORGE for council |
||||
|
Once again no answers. I wonder why? How sad you are george.

Hals brother asked the following question.
HOW MANY YEARS HAS GEORGE LIVED HERE?? Can't you even answer that question or is this what the council will be like if george is some how elected (as a joke). NO ANSWERS!!! just like the few days he was on the planning board. |
||||
|
Maybe we shouldn't vote for either Kowalksi or McDonald and write-in our own names on the council ballot.
|
||||
|
George Kowalksi is a quitter not a good choice
for council he will pull Hal under Vote early Don Smith for the right man and lower taxes |

Insightful words from George, edited to meet 4000 character count:
"The mayor sent an email:.... In it he states: "This past year we were successful in negotiating the first long-term contract with our Fire Department. It is not a buzzword when I say it is mutually beneficial - it is a fact! Everyone benefits from having our great relationship cemented by long-term strategic planning. The negotiations were not easy and at times they were challenging but that is the true nature of business negotiations. As stewards of the public trust it is the responsibility of the mayor and town council to obtain the best possible outcome for the town. At some point in time, all of Town Council and our Town Manager participated in these negotiations and all were totally committed to the development of a fair and objective long-term, mutually-beneficial agreement and that is what we got. I was pleased with the results, proud of closing the deal with Chief Bob Harvey and presenting the results to Town Council who approved it unanimously." This is an interesting selective memory issue with major truths missing. Let start with "our great relationship." Let me give you some examples of my memory of this relationship. 1. When the mayor first took office and began going after "waste" in government and was attacking the police department and was concerned about why they carried shotguns and how many shotgun shells each car carried, he called in Chief Bob Harvey and myself, then Chairman of the Board, to meet. No agenda was given. When the initial niceties were passed, the mayor demanded that the fire department return $50,000 dollars to the town. We explained that we did not have the money and that we never received the money and that it was in his budget and pointed out the line to him. He looked at the line and demanded the money again. We gave the same explanation, thinking that he did not understand. He began raising his voice and yelling that he wanted that money. The meeting ended. Our next year's budget amount was reduced by $50,000 and it was a take it or leave it proposition. Is this a great relationship? 2. The negotiations were not easy and sometimes a challenge? The Chief, Deputy Chief, and I were invited to a town council meeting. Once again, no agenda was given. We sat there until our turn came up on the agenda. The council motion was to accept the fire contract as developed by the town attorney. The mayor waved the paper around above his head and announced that they had spent enough time negotiating and that a vote was needed and when a time line for a fire response was raised, he announced that two weeks was enough time to have the fire department sign the contract. The council voted for it. When we left, we were given several sheets of paper that were missing most of the contract. We had never seen it before and never had negotiated a contract with the town. Is this how you negotiate? Is this how you treat your dearest friends? 3. The town became serious in negotiating a contract only after their bids to contract for fire services with the towns of Kitty Hawk and Duck were rejected. At least those town managers were smart enough to realize that the SSVFD was an integral part of their mutual aid fire protection system and they valued this relationship. How the council and mayor publicly treat their service providers is frankly embarrassing. What is more concerning to me is the council member that I am running against supports the mayor and has his name printed on the same political signs." |

Don - at least be smart enough to use a different computer on a different server. You have been pegged to Creswell, NC - Donnie. Or maybe it is another one of your buddies. Pack your bags you and your friends blew your opportunities to represent us.
