Ex-selectman Christensen under house arrest, on $10K bail

Who does this guy know to get this kind of a deal. I always thought you had to come up with the bail or you stay in jail. I smell a rat some where in this deal. I wonder who he knows? Most hacks know some one who can pull off a deal like this.
