Once again everyone who doesn't live in the area that will be directly affected has the answer. As long as those who live there say, "No" should there be any other response?

The 710 tunnel was advocated by myself in a letter to the South Pasadena Review over thirteen years ago. I believe I was the first in the region to conclude that a tunnel would end the feud about the original surface route through South Pasadena. Surprise! It only took these many years for highly paid government officials to decide to start the project. What a circus we have running daily in our midst! Ray Dashner

Was anyone in the Pasadena area impacted when the 210 freeway was extended to the 15 freeway? ABSOLUTELY! It was big rig truck gridlock 2 weeks after the connection was made. Has anyone in Pasadena area considered that the 710 freeway is a big rig truck artery from the port of Long Beach? This connection would link the 710 to the 5 freeway as the most direct route North. This would make the 210 North an unbelievable big rig gridlock nightmare. NO THANKS. If you build it, they will come.

We are sick and thred of South Pasadena !! They said if the LACMTA built the Gold Line they would accept this over the 710 freeway being completed thru thier useless town!! Now they complain against the LACMTA Gold Line and say it makes too much noise !! Now its time to shove the 710 freeway right down thier throats and make them enjoy it too !!

I feel that a tunnel would be a great end to years of trying. I born and raised in that area. I am now in the Bay area and use the Caldecott Tunnel and feel that you should also look to the future. When designing the tunnels, make room for expansion and room to add a mass transit option. They failed to do so up here and now they need to drill another tunnel costing a lot more. Remember to Plan ahead. If job to be finished in 11 years, we know it will take 20 years, so plan for traffic and population in the year 2030.

Like Salaam Allah, I am tired of South Pasadena's opposition to the 710 Freeway. To the South Pasdaneans: next time you drive to San Diego or San Francisco, try taking surface streets and back roads only! Have Fun! If you can't now accept a clean solution to the traffic gridlock in South Pasadena, Pasadena, and Alhambra, then STAY OFF OF "OUR" freeways! South Pasadena = NimbyVille Ultimate.

Spoken like a true South Pas snob. The city of South pasadena sucks! they whine about having any kind of good stores there, and refuse to let anyone build. But they have no problem driving into Pasadena, or Alhambra and clog up the roads. Enough crying South Pas, you are nothing but stuck up a-holes!

I really don't understand this. They should just tell those people in South Pasadena "too bad" and just extend the 710. I live by the border of Eagle Rock and Pasadena. I travel a lot to East LA, Downey, the South Bay and it would make life so much easier for Angelenos if that 710 didnt stop on Valley and continued to the 210. Instead I have to go in a big circle, the 110 south to the 5 south to the 10 west. Really though, everyone wants that freeway except for the little community of S. Pasadena. What is it? They want to keep everyone out of their community? Hey, we all like less traffic and dont like lots of trucks in our neighborhoods but if everyone else has it they should too. That little city is no special city.

Mr Salaam obviously has a lot of hate for the people of South Pasadena it is sad to see people like him who don't want to understand that where we live is important to us, and that we will fight to preserve this place, where our children play and grow up, maybe where he comes from it doesen;t matter and where he lives now it doesen't either since he lives there now. I would recommend Mr Salaam to stay away from our business, of saving our city since he only cares for himself and himself again. If he is sick and tired of us thats his problem. SGV Succession Now
Baldwin Park, CA
|
No Gold Line; then no sales tax and No Toll lanes! Refuse taxation without representation. Don't buy big ticket items in LA County, use the internet. And just revolt and disregard the toll lanes. If you get a ticket don't pay. It will only work if everyone joins in.
We need a succession movement from Los Angeles now. Those criminals will keep riding us for taxes until we're dead.
Who ever puts together a succession movement from Los Angeles will get honored with a statue at both ends of the SGV. The SGV has enough money to become the next Orange County and can be great if we use our money on ourselves. We should annex the unincorporated areas of LA that are a blight in our communities, fix them up and have nothing to do with Los Angeles County except maybe contract with them for emergency services when needed. We pay an arm and a leg for those services anyway.
It is as clear as day now. The SGV makes the money. We pay taxes. LA country takes money. They are tax takers. We give; they take and give it to anyone in LA County but us. That is the only relationship we have with LA County. Most recently they have been bullied by the San Fernando Valley mafia after this area ran a successful succession movement. Good for them, bad for us.
These bastards in LA City Hall and at the MTA think we are too complacent and stupid to put together a succession movement. LA County and those city hall bribe taking crooks think we are nothing more than a bunch of do nothing aging W.A.S.P’s coupled with gullible money making immigrants. Let’s pack our shit and leave and see how well they do when the gravy train stops.

R Voter Fraud

There is no way measure R passed by that wide a margin. It just happened to pass by 1% when it needed a 2/3 majority?
Something's not right and voters should demand a recount. Notice the media won't talk about this measure passing. They know this is in-your-face fraud as well.
Don't worry they'll be back next year to get more transportation funding when they say they can't continue without more tax revenue. This is just like the bank bailouts.
Demand a recount.
