nope..they eat their young; but only if you handle the babies when their mother is gone. what happens is you leave your scent on the amish baby's nest, and then the mom knows you've been there and will eat her baby.

The Amish are a religious group/sect of the Pennsylvania Dutch (German to those who have no clue with a smattering of other European nationalities). They do not use electric power; they are not vain or proud, just hard working. They have many kids in a family mostly because they do not believe in any form of birth control, and the other reason is that they need the farm labor when the kids are older. Their belief system is honesty hard work and doing what is morally right, and yes they believe in God and are thankful for what God has given them.

They do not eat their young, that's a load of cow puckey and then some. They are law abiding citizens with the freedom to practice their religion just like anyone else in the USA is allowed to practice their religion.

Men and women are all equal so why do people have to be so judgmental especially about people who are different than they are. What works for some people doesn't mean that it works for all people, but that doesn't mean that your way of life is wrong nor does it mean that the Amish way of life is wrong. Accept Diversity and be a bit more tolerant of others who are not like you.

OK I would like to know when any amish person has bothered anyone of you? I hear things such as theya re rude and so on. NOT once have I drove by an amish out working going down the road that they dont stop and wave. They are very nice people doing what not many americans do anymore, WORK HARD! I have 2 children who are ages 11 and 4 and they dont even pick up after themselfs let alone go out and work inthe fields, I personally would like to learn fromthem to raise my children.eat their young? whats going on here I thought u couldnt get on internet while in school? or must be ur parenst allow u to use it at home.I respect them and I feel you should do the same. maybe they live a different life style but everyone lives a different life style than others.they dont have computers, I do but I dont allow my children on it, obviously ur family is different u can tell they allow the children on it, but thats the choice they have to make.different life styles! I do not trust the Amish. I think they do some very weird witchcraft behind closed doors. Those beards are creepy......

Amish people do eat their young. Sure...they won't eat your children but does that mean they are good people, just becuase they don't eat your precious babies? All I can say is this...don't handle an Amish baby because if you do the mother will eat it and you will have to deal with that for the rest of your life.

For those curious about the AMish lifestyle and beleifs I would reccomend the documentary "Kingpin."

Thats pretty much what my boyfriend said!!!! There are a lot of things that people do that are unbelieveable though.
And I agree We should all raise our kids to be more like the working amish kids. My kids dont do much of anything to help out at home. They sure couldnt handle living the amish way and getting out of bed to work.
Maybe if we all turned out the lights and used horses and less energy like they do gas prices wouldnt be so high. And take the damn video games away from our kids!!!!!!!!!
