Or...well you get the idea. For those of you that say it is safe to live in Pico Rivera, you're only saying that because you have not been shot by a gang member or a tagger...at least not yet. There are 65,000 Pico Rivera residents and a few of them gets killed each month. That is unaceptable... Take a look at murder rates of other near-by cities. Pico Rivera is just about the same as cities such as Lynwood, Bell, and East LA areas such as Boyle Heights. But as you head south, the murder rates are lower in places like Downey, Norwalk, and especially Cerritos... Cerritos had only 3 murders in the entire year of 2006, thanks to the city's strict laws and ordinance such as prohibiting public parking without a permit (to sweep out all uninvited visitors), and excessive police patrol at every dark corners of the city. And the public's on-going fight against taggers and gangs by notifying police. That is what Pico Rivera needs. I am doing my fair share of the fight; I report every suspicious activity in my neighborhood filled with young innocent children. I want them safe. I am happy to say that tagging has declined ever since I became proactive in this fight. I ask for Pico Rivera residence to do the same. If you love your city, do everything you can to protect it from gang violence. PICO RIVERA DOES NOT HAVE THE SAME NUMBERS AS PLACES IN EAST LOS ANGELES.... BE SERIOUS HERE.... TAKE EL SERENO FOR EXAMPLE, THATS IN ELA AND THEY PUT UP 30 PLUS HOMICIDES A YEAR WITH ONLY 47,000 OF POPULATION.... THATS BOUT 60 HOMICIDES A YEAR PER THA 100,000 POPULATION / PER CAPITA THAT THE FBI USES.... THERE PUTTIN UP SAME NUMBERS AS COMPTON BUT NO ONE HEARS BOUT THAT NOR BOUT OTHER CITITES IN ELA.... BUT PICO AINT PUTTIN UP THESE KINDA NUMBERS

I think gang members should all be put on an island and let the military use that island for target practice, especially the repeat offenders. They are weeds that need to be pulled out of the garden of life. Growing up in Pico in a bad neighborhood, two of my friends growing up were in the gang. One is doing life with no parole for killing a minor, the other 25 years for robbing a super market and shooting the manager.A total waste of their potential. I was fortunate enough to have parents, sports and music to keep me from making stupid decisions. I personally would love to have the job of torturing these punks and give them a taste of their own medicine, watching them piss their pants everytime i walked in the room. I got in fights with them because I was not in the gang, and none of them can do anything without their boyfriends helping them out. I used to love kicking their ass and showing them exactly the type of weak, bitches they really are. I wish being a vigilante was legal, because I would clean that city up in less than a year, but then I be like them, and I am way above the human cockroaches that call themselves gangsters in that city.

I also live in pico and its not so bad , ya you got gang members and taggers but the city is is trying to clean it up.problem is that when push comes to shove some people got to get some balls and stand up to these low lifes and help put them away and not turn a blind eye. pick up the phone and call ,report don't sit back and hope someone else will do it.parents need to start acting like parents and putting their kids in check not let them run around at night not knowing where they are at. just a thought it might help

Pico Rivera Parent wrote: I dopn't think that Pico is infested with gang members. I graduted in early 90's I never had any probelsm then and now. It is a fantastic place for my family yo live. My kids are 4th generation here Pico Rivera You didn't graduate; they kicked you out because you couldn't spell or put a sentence together properly, but hey, that's ok. You can go to night school so your FAMILY won't spell like you when they grow up and THEN you can be proud.

We could take this guy to his, "hood," and do it there.(behind bullet proof glass of course) I'm sick of the utter scum in our cities. This guy serves ZERO purpose in society.... NONE. He'll just suck our tax dollars and make more victims of good people. They should just end his life and do everyone a favor. AMEN to that!!!!!!!!

The city is as good as it's police/gang enforcement unit, hence, judge that one for yourself. If the sheriff's turn a blind eye we're screwed, so we know that ; now what ? Armed and dangerous is what YOU have to be to protect yourself and your family. Eff with us and they will find out that GOD exists. Tired of these pencil dicks running the city. Take back the power, do something or get some cheese for your whine !
