Port St. Lucie's dilemma

Problem is the property tax bill. It is outrageous. Apparently PSL stands for Pig St. Lucie becuase this city seems to have about 1 cop for every 3 taxpayers. Either they have a ridiculously bloated number of cops (my opinion) or they need them to combat a horrible crime problem (not borne out examining crime statistics).
Either way it's no place I want to live.
Nasty high bill for property tax comes in Nov. Couple that with a plummeting real estate market, no job opportunities, and a local gov't that pissed away millions of taxpayer dollars on a Torre-Pines biotec scheme likley to provide little benefit to the residents and what you do have is a corrupt gov't commanding an army of pigs and an economic crisis. Welcome aboard the Titanic !!

I agree..i have lived in PSL for 7 yrs..The new mayor is a greedy fat pig..she is punishing us for the tax break she didn't want us to have..the new downtown is a total joke..just a new breeding ground for some real crime. Property value has dropped dramatically, so many foreclosures..taxes are so high..water is rediculous, electric and waste removal are a nightmare..businesses are letting ppl go or cutting hours to practically nothing..food gets higher every day..it sucks!!!

I have been in PSL for a long time and the PSL Police have always had a bad history. I even heard about a blank warrant they used to try to search someone's house. Your civil rights are non-existent here. No attorney's will take your case because of the cap on city law suits leaving you defenseless. The system does not provide a means of recourse for you. The Police Complaint program is a joke. The mayor seemed unconcerned. The feds will do little unless you suffer major physical harm.
I refuse to call these clowns for anything. The sad part is that I used to be the first one to defend them, until they educated me. The damage to my pristine record is unrecoverable. I know that I do NOT want my tax $$$s going to them under any circumstances.

So, does this mean there will only be 3 PSL police cars at the tropical smoothie joint instead of 5?
