A person with a misdemeanor and felony arrest record a mile long can still obtain and possess a firearm legally, just so long as they able to answer no to the questions on an ATF 4473 in Section A, 12-a/i, they are legal to purchase.

Additionally, even if they cannot answer yes to all of those 4473 questions, they may still be legal to possess their current firearm collection.
