I agree! I thought this site was built to keep the community informed, not for the people of the community to bash each other! It is all "he said, she said" rumors and usless gossip now! Makes for a very intersting social experiment though .. LOL!

I agree with your comment about this site getting out of control with slander. It makes the people of Sophia look like, a town made up of people with no intelligence, need to say, no common sense. Who would want to live, or open up a business in the town of Sophia WV, with people of this kind living in Sophia,and helping with the running of the town of Sophia. Everyone has skeltons in the closet. We all have made mistakes in our lives. But, hopefully we learn from them and not make that same mistake again. Also, there is times people may make mistakes because of things going on in their lives, ill or etc. that would cause them not to be thinking clear. But, those that have put all this garbage, slander of some and the town, are thinking clear. No excuse for them, except, ignorant and immature trash!! Us citizens that do have some intelligence, needs to watch this site more, and if the slandering continues, we need to take legal action. And I and my family, along with our family lawyers will be the first one in line!

If its the truth its not slander.

Also, we as American citizens were blessed with

the constitutional right of freedom of speech.

If you are preparing to sue someone for slander,

to save your family embarrassment, make sure the

facts can not be proven.

As for "evidence" to support the facts in which I

have written, I am including the following:

Defamation is defined as a false statement communicated to another person that damages your reputation by exposing you to hatred, contempt, or ridicule from other people. Libel is communicating a defamatory statement by writing or picture. Slander is defamation by oral or spoken communication.

If such words were written or spoken of you, you are not defamed if the words were true. Truth is a complete defense to defamation. Even if your reputation is damaged by a defamatory communication, you cannot recover if the communication was true.

i work for a law firm i know the law but some of the stuff on this site is bull some true alot of rumors so sit back and watch

Yes, it's true. I look at the fire department topic and see where they started bashing a fire chief for trying to clean up a mess and even called him names.
On another topic, there was a girl asking about a club to go to and she got bashed and threatened!

My opinion, would be to shut this board down and have regular town meetings face to face,just like the old days.

There are to many two faced people that want to use this as a punching bag!

I agree with you. This site should be shut down!

I just heard about his site. The way it was explained to me was that it was about rumors about local people we know. Sophia isn't that bad to live in. Almost everyone keeps to themselves. I do have some anal neighbors that if we touch their precious chainlink fence they go running to our landlord like 2 year olds.

It is very embarrassing, as a local, that this site was explained this way. I wish I could say that it is different, but cannot! This is a good place to live, but every tree has its rotten apples! SOME of the people in this community are proving that some trees have more than others!
