Piece of the World Trade Center coming to York

A part of September 11 history will have a permanent home in York. Prospect Hill Cemetery is arranging for the arrival of a 10-foot I-beam steel lintel that was part of the World Trade Center, which was destroyed during the terrorist attacks on Sept.

I was extremely disappointed to see in the news coverage on WGAL that an American flag was placed underneath the World Trade Center I beam and transported like this. Flag protocol directs that nothing will be placed on top of an American flag. It is also not to be used as a "cloth" for protecting something on top of it (the flag). In the video footage, the workers loading this beam placed the flag on the flatbed trailer, placed support braces on top of the flag, and lowered the beam ontop of the flag. This is unexcusable.
