YOUNG PEOPLE, this Tuesday is your time to stand up and finally be heard! I'm no longer in what would be termed the "young demographic" for this election and by that, I mean under 35 years of age. But, even I see that those of you who are under 35 are the key to winning this election. All of my adult life we've watched what now must be millions and millions of dollars exit our community to be spent in Richmond, Nicholasville and just across the Tenn line. We know alcohol is here in vast quantities and it always has been. We've seen it come into town in the backs of cars and boats with Ohio tags every weekend during the summer. Yet, some have refused to accept that because by law it is illegal to purchase in Somerset. Bootleggers continue to make a good, untaxed income by selling unregulated alcohol to ANYONE, including minors. YOU, the youth of Somerset can finally make a strong impact on the future of your city. You may have felt disenfranchised in the past because of what you see as the "old boys club" way that things get done in Somerset. THIS IS YOUR CHANCE to self-direct that direction of Somerset in a way that may not come around again for a long time. This isn't a religious issue, you know very well you cannot legislate morality. Adults MUST make adult decisions and accept the responsibility for their actions. This is an economic issue that demands your attention and action. SO, START ACTING! PLEASE, start utilizing social media to remind your friends, relatives and neighbors to get out and vote on Tuesday!

I started this thread to hopefully motivate the younger voters of our area. It has nothing to do with being a Liberal or Conservative at this point. It's simply a matter of asking those under 35 to vote rather than stand by and watch. It's not a young vs. old issue either. EVERY vote counts but, those over 35 are always more likely to vote because they have alittle more experience and feel directly connected to the results of elections. This is the PERFECT chance for younger voters to have direct input into their own future. They don't often get the chance to feel that.

The Youth and those who are in Solidarity w/ the Youth... they are the future. No bull. They seriously are, and when they realize that they have power in numbers, there will be no stopping them.

that would work problem is most under 35 around these parts are drug addicts and arent allowed to vote due to having multiple felony convictions, but dont worry you too will have a chance to bask in the numerous new jobs the wet vote will bring id say the minors be looking for people to buy for them

When I was 18-25 I was really tired of "old" people telling me what I could not do. I don't imagine that has changed all that much since then and that the youngsters today feel much the same. So, now is their chance to voice these feelings through their vote. Good Luck.

To be fair, Progress has been actively using social media to reach people since the beginning. If you're on Facebook, you're likely tripping over more "Vote Yes" posts than every sign the "Dry" side is planting in yards. That's what I think is the one thing that will really turn the vote. The dry side is generally older, less tech savvy and don't really understand social networking unless it's on Topix. Anyone with two functional brain cells to rub together knows that nothing posted on Topix is taken seriously by ANYONE. Meanwhile, we're organized and out there reaching hundreds or thousands of people. Vote Wet, Somerset! Or be left behind.

Scumerset is full of idiots anyway so why not make it a bunch of drunk idiots. And Lake Cumberland doesn't just belong to Scumerset last I checked, and to be honest the lake sucks balls now although Scumerset acts like it's their claim to fame lol what a joke.

I don't understand why Dry advocates keep saying all these negative comments about Somerset going Wet. If ppl want to consume alcohol then they're gonna get it somehow. If not Somerset then they'll drive wherever to get it. That shouldn't be the point. Alcohol is always gonna be around in this world. There's nothing wrong with drinking alcohol as some Dry advocates so vehemently preach about. Moderation is key to everything in life. It's time for change----->Vote WET!!

Moderation is the key to everybody in life, but some folks just want to manipulate and control what we do in our own homes... when did we lose the rights to our own bodies ? We dont have privacy now ? We dont have morality... ethics... people not treating each other right, still at War, nobody's got any economic plans to make things better... it's getting worse and worse... will a Christian pull their head outta their azz to fix all these problems ? Yeah right... that's doubtful. Only smart people, scholars and scientists, can pull us outta this mess... too bad the Christians ex-communicated all of them from your towns... yall dont like smart people do ya ? U seen Idiocracy ? Yep... that's Ky. Gatewood would have mad this state a bumping place... but yall didnt care about that, did ya ? What's your solution... u judgemental snobby uppity elitest douche bag ?
