Obama and the EPA may shut them down. They may not pass the envirmental impact on the envirnment. This could cost millions and take years to complete.

Really and what would make you think this? I mean Somerset already has 2 here that are open and run every single day other than the weekends.

These are not refineries, these are service stations. The only refinery in this area is Continental Refining.

this refinery has a history of not paying oil producers for their crude. to get a good flow of crude they will have to pay cash to producers and prove they are not another group of theives.

True, but they don't refine anything. Just bulk storage facilities and terminals.

Would love to buy a locally made product at a reasonable price , not something priced by a towel head in the Sahara desert - I've heard the 'global market' thang 'til I wanna puke - $2 bucks a gallon should build them a large customer base -

The sub title to this article stated that this was a "shuddered" facility - Me thunks it should've been , "shuttered" - Meaning , closed up - Hope their refiners can spell & read correctly - Raw petroleum products need educated folks to safely handle them -

The cat running the show down there is a close friend of mine. He was trained by the veterans from the old refinery crew and worked his way up to head operator. He left there and worked for Ashland for several years before returning to help here. He knows his stuff.

Guess I should've said the "writers" - My dad drove a tanker down there in the late '50's - early '60's - An old cabover White - He hated that truck -I still thunk we need some full service Somerset Oil stations , with lower than market prices -

I wish they were too....but last time he was at the house, he said they wouldn't be opening any stations this time. He said they just didn't make any money.
