It's the ongoing saga and all too common. We ate a state with one of the worst infrastructures in America.
Between left Turns, Right on Red, few turning lanes, only a few Rest Stops, decrepid and dangerous motor vehicles, no "limited access bypasses" around our largest cities it is no surprise.

Alabama is a state with warped priorities, and while we claim to be morally superior because of our hard fought laws standing up for old fashioned Christian values, we ignore the reality. Our roads and highways are antiquated, inferior and dangerous.
People die in cars because of their actions or actions by others. We make poor choices, live reckless, and make unhealthy lifestyle choices. It's cause and effect

Then innocent victims families must deal with the pain and loss; just as I have. I lost my brother at the age of 32 who left behind a wife and child. It was a combination of poor concentration and hazardous roads.

If the police and state troopers would do their jobs and enforce the traffic laws things like this wouldn't happen. They won't stop and ticket bad drivers and they are always on their cell phones. But if the cities and towns would pay a good wage they would get good people, if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. If everyone would send an email to the Department of Public Safety things would change.

In all due respect, you can't stop everyone on every road that makes a bad driving decision. We would have to have MILLIONS of officers on the streets in Marshall County alone to even come close to doing this. Driving a vehicle is a very deadly and dangerous act when not taken seriously. Some accidents are completely preventable and some are completely unavoidable. It is a sad truth that too many innocent people die on our roads every day! Sad! I wish there were a way to prevent it! Hopefully someday soon this will end! My heart goes out to the victims and their families and friends!

It is certainly NOT the fault of our law enforcement that these people have accidents.
Why is it that you people automatically lay blame on our finest whom risk their lives daily. How would you liked to be blamed for accidental deaths? I uphold, honor and respect our law enforcement.. may I suggest you do the same. GOD BLESS OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT.:)

I want to extend my heart felt sympathy and prayers to the families that lost loved ones. I know too well of the pain you are feeling right now, as I lost my oldest son (age 21) this year on Valentine's day in a car accident. I also pray for the injured that they recover quickly. God bless your in my prayers.

Otha Harbin the man in the truck is my cousin. This is something he will live with the rest of his life, and it wasnt even his fault.I think it is pretty bad when people want to make jokes and light of something so serious. The pragmatic Realist needs to lay of whatever drugs he is on and get back to reality.Have a little compassion for the families.A family just lost two sons and another 2 families are setting in a hospital waiting for their sons to come out of surgery. So blog off

A family member of one of the victims works with me. An individual who lost a life in the accident is affected by not just his family but the community. The individual was a foster parent. It upsets me the way some of you can just disregard the situation. The families are hurting and some of you seem to have no compassion. This could have been any of us. I will be praying for the family, espescially the children. If their is something we can do then we need to stop talking and do it. If something is unsafe we need to pull together and fix it. Next time it could be one of us getting that phone call. God bless everyone.

This wreck happened in a residential area where the speed limit is 35 mph. Had both of these vehicles been observing the speed limit, chances are they would have walked away with a few minor injuries. It took about 2 hours to clear the road but just as soon as the street was open to traffic again, it was like the Talladega Speedway out here. Everyone on Sunset Drive risks their lives every day just trying to pull out of the driveway. It is a shame that these two young men lost their lives here today but blaming law enforcement is not the answer. Our prayers go out to their families.

Sunset is a dangerous road and no one pays any attention to the speed limit. It is set at 35 for a reason. There are to many curves in said road. Driving isnt taken seriously anymore, if it was people wouldn't be continuously dying in car wrecks. My prayers go out to the family of the brothers that were killed today.

thanks t j mc,some accidents are just that but most is the result of inconsiderate selfish drivers and there is no citation for stupid.if there was, "d is d" is right, you would have to have "MILLIONS" of officers writing tickets 24/7.

Guntersville Police under Cheif Jim Peterson do a great job. Except for one thing one officer stops a car and two to three officers back him up for a simple moving volation. Those extra officer could do a better job staying in service patroling our streets. Our prayers go out to all familys touched by the accident.
