the students are very well prepped for these exams by the teachers. my son was on the principal's list while attending LCA. once in public school, he had to stay back to catch up. and my son is about 5 years older than yours. save your child the trouble of the struggle he is sure to endure once out of LCA.

My son is in his senior yr at a local high school. He transferred over during his sophomore year and found he was very behind. Lost many credits dealing with LCA. They tried to give grades for Study Hall and Service...those classes did not even transfer. Now he is taking extra courses in his senior year to graduate. LCA really put him behind...parents please investigate this school before sending your son or daughter to it... The education is not as strong as the public schools in the area.

Many of my friends also have experienced very similiar circumstances when their child has transferred. I dont want to talk negatively about LCA, only facts. The fact we are dealing with is that students are consistently behind after transferring in high school to local public schools. LCA has a lot of potential, but educationally is not living up to what they are supposed to. I hope they are in the midst of change to a stronger focus on education.

Believe me everything on here is way overstated by disgruntled parents. But there are many more people with positive experiences there I can assure you. Simply an untrue statement. I have friends whose kids transfered and they were way ahead of their public school peers. They said they did not have a problem at all with transfering and all credits except Bible were accepted.

I absoultly LOVE lancaster. It is a VERY straight foward academic school. I love my teachers and think they are very educated in what they teach. I test very high on my SAT Tests and think I am getting a very good education. Sports are important at LCA but they dont get treated any diffrently than any other student. The thing that seperates lancaster from any other school is the CHRISTIAN ASPECT! THE LANCASTERS AND ANY OTHER TEACHER ARE READY FOR YOU TO TALK TO THEM ABOUT CHRIST. CHRIST IS IN EVERYDAY LESSON PLANS. YOU CANT FIND THAT AT ANY OTHER SCHOOL! I love it there and wouldnt trade it for anything.

There are plenty of private Christian schools that are based and centered on Jesus Christ and are much stronger academically and athletically than LCA. Ezell Harding, Franklin Road, Lighthouse, and Middle Tennessee Christian are just a few. Let's be honest, LCA is not a school that is devoted to excellence in the classroom or on the field or court. LCA is a school that does not push their students- it's ok to be that, just be honest.

I know the difference between public and other private school and lca. Its good if you are willing to be educated in a really Christian place

LCA was a negative place for me personally. I picked up so many negative habits from the school. I did pick up a lot of positive habits from athletics. As hard as it was to leave it was the right thing to do. I hope it has changed and I do hope the focus is on Christ because it was lip service while I was there.

i attend lancaster as a junior right now and i have nothing but good things to say. i dont understand where all the bad comments are coming from. first, the academics are great and i have a twenty eight on my ACT to prove it. second, they handle situations that come up very professionally. about the organization of the school, since the other half of the school has been added on, everything is much more organized. before, the school was working from two locations, and now there is one central office. the most important aspect of lancaster is that it is a christian school. we have chapel every thursday which is amazing! the worship band plays great songs, then one of the teachers gives a powerful sermon. and of course there is bible class everyday, and the bible teacher, mr. nebrija, is such a great addition to the school. this is his first year and i have grown in my faith so much :)i truly love lancaster!! i hope this helps any parents who are hesitant to send your kids here!

a PREVIOUS students POV wrote: i attended LCA for two years. what a terrible two years of my life. my first year, our teacher quit near the end of the school year after many complaints from my class. people chanted "the witch is dead!" aren't teachers supposed to be nurturing and if they leave, students are sad? on previous encounters, during our gym class, we ran a mile around the park, right across from the school. some students were incapable of running that much, and threw up. we were yelled at to keep going. i would understand this if we were on some team, but gym class? very unprofessional. expecially when a regular teacher is teaching a physical education class. the next year we were moved into a church building. it was fine at first, we knew we were going to be in a new gym by january. how untrue that was. we ate on the floor, because the cafeteria tables were grosser than the floor. we were cramped, and rushed to our next class. no, not because we wanted to be there, but we had to sit on the floor, because desks weren't supplied for everyone. the place was dirty, i've personally seen cockroaches, and ants were there too. A teacher called us good for nothing, account to nothing, and when my mother came in to discuss it, they wouldn't have it. i even recorded this teacher yelling at us, just so i had some proof to tell my mother of these terrible things. he kept us late in class and we had to be silent. tests and quizzes were easy because we all just sat on a couch, discussing our answers, and why we them. our teachers didn't even care. in my second year there, one of my teachers called me out for missing her class so much. i was going to a funeral. during my second year i was moved up to an advanced class with a few of my other classmates. i got an 87 for my grade in that class. going to a new year school, i was put in the same advanced class, and had to be moved back to a remedial class. currently, i'm failing that too. two important years of my school life was corrupt, and is now affecting my intellect these next years. thanks LCA, for nothing. i was a student at lca the year we were in the church building, and i am still a student there. the only true statement i read in this persons comment was we ate on the floor, but it wasnt because the tables were too nasty. there was a room with lunch tables and the rest of the students who couldnt fit in there did have to sit on the floor. that situation was only supposed to be temporary since the lancasters were building a new gym, which turned out very nicely! that year at the church was a bad representation of the school, and i assure you the school is fantastic now!! no school is perfect, but when problems come up at lancaster, in spite of what most of these comments say, the staff handles them appropriately and professionaly. the school is great, but what makes it even better is that we can pray before our classes, have bible class, and have a worship service, chapel, every thursday. you can email me if you want to ask a student at lancaster any questions, and i will give you an honest answer. fabulous2011@live.com

While I have been a student for several years at LCA and transferred away this year, I agree with some of the things you are saying. I too had a great Bible teacher with Coach Green and thought the world of him. I thought things were more disorganized last year at the new building. I did like the gym, but things we so chaotic most of the time. While Im proud that you scored a 28 on your ACT, I scored a 16, which I think is more average for typical LCA students. I did not return to LCA for several reasons, but in the end I think my family was tired of paying for field trips all the time, and little nick nack stuff. My parents were full tuition payers last year at $5000, but we ended up paying around $8000 when it was all said and done- to us it just wasnt worth it anymore.

Just to give you an update on some of the coaches that LCA has had over the past few years:
1. Coach Greene is doing great in Florida at Seven Rivers Christian. He has a very young team but they seem to be promising. They were competing each week, and through their website, seem to be in the hunt for the playoffs.
2. Coach Chirch has been the new athletic director at Victory Christian Academy and doing a great job building the young program. He is helping with all aspects of the program from coaching to organization, and really allowing God to work in the lives of student-athletes.
3. Coach Turner is in the middle of his 3rd year at Mt Juliet Christian Academy, and is coaching baseball. Earlier posts on this board stated that is why he left, and in his first year of head coaching the varsity, he took them from one win the previous year to 15 wins in his first year.
As you can see, all three of these coaches are doing great, and I am happy for them. Am I disappointed that they left? Yes...but I should not hold ill feelings towards them. God Bless all of them.

Question

I agree that all these guys are great coaches. My question is this: Why did they all leave LCA? Two of them in the same year, both after championship seasons. Makes me scratch my head and think wouldn't coaches who win championships want to stay and keep building their programs? Why would they leave? The nice answer that they will give everyone is to pursue other opportunities, but I don't think that is true as a whole. Im very happy for all of the coaches and the success they have experienced at their new schools, my question is why couldn't they have stayed and kept building their successful programs- Coach Green in football and Coach Chirch in basketball?

LCA is a great place if you like for your child to have an awesome social life. If you have a High School student there is quite a bit offered, however, if your child is in K-5th grade, they appear to get ignored. The teachers do not teach the class, they spend most of the time trying to get the kids under control. After 4 years at the school, I am having to pay an additional $12,000 to a private learning center just to get my child at the level they need to be at next year so that I can transfer them out.

The terrible truth is this is a bad school educationally and athletically. God has been good and moved at LCA not because of the people but in spite of the people. No school is perfect, but the owners think it is and that is why they treat parents and teachers the same way- not much respect. I hope things will change in the future.
