It AMAZING!!
Why do we only care about the cops??
The title of this story is "RPD officer recovering after crash", well how about the other guy? The other guy was in worst shape the then the officer. The officer was only "just shaken up".
-And they are actually charging the other driver for "failure to yield", when the officer was responding to back up another officer, driving fast, going through red lights at the intersection, where cross traffic can't see you, and the cop did NOT even have his lights and sirens on.
This resident is hurt, gets his car crashed up, his insurance will go up cause the RPD will say it was his fault, he will have to pay tickets for failure to yield, he will have to pay money to get his car out of the pound, and for what? For going through a "GREEN" light???
--The RPD has more car accidents then any other police department in the area, I can't understand why they are not held accountable for their actions.

There is a RPD camera right there on the street lamp post.
I bet Duffy is running to the camera room to destroy the video tapes, so the officer can't be blamed.

"""About six fire trucks are on scene with about a dozen police cars. """"

It was only a two car accident, involving two adults. Why soooo many fire trucks and police cars?????? Why do they care soo much more for their own???

I bet they all were helping the stupid cop, and left the injured city resident on his own.

Most jobs where you have to drive a company car, you need to keep a good driving record to keep your job.
Not at the RPD, not only can you cause a bunch of accidents and keep your job, but you can cause the accidents "while at work", destroy the company car, and it will not even go on your driving record or your insurance, and you will not even have to pay for the damage you caused.

I'm getting a bit sick of the police being so quick to issue tickets to people who are involved in crashes with their officers. Maybe the officer was exceeding the speed limit and should be issued a ticket. Maybe the officer failed to yield the right of way to a vehicle already lawfully using the intersection. How about a little police accountability here! Maybe the state police should be investigating all police involved crashes to ensure a fair investigation. The department is obviously protecting their own. The chief should be concerned about this.

Finally, someone with at least half of a brain. When you're in trouble and need the police you'll be the first one to complain that it took them too long to get there. Also, when they get there make sure you tell them how much you despise them.

When I was a teenager (many years ago)the people like RPDsuks and 13suks used to call the police "PIGS" I remenber a old saying:when your life is in danger, then you should call a pig to save your a-s not a cop.I'll bet you that these idiots would be the first ones to call a cop to save their sorry butts and cry like he-l if they took too long to get to them. What a bunch of losers these two are.

Fair investigation please! their is a camera right at the corner as we already know. so lets see the cameras footage. and why was a ticket given out without an investigation???????. if the police officer is personally invovled in the accident then their is personal bias in the case. so an investigation has to be done. are they telling me that they wacthed the video before given that ticket. i think not it was issued to protect the police officer. just like the other officers in greece tried to protect Nick Joseph from his drunken adventure

Yea why won't they call the police thats what we pay them for and its the upstanding thing to do when we see an accident or crime being committed. they get called those name because of what they do when they respond. do you want to deter people from calling the 'pigs'. why do you have that little faith in them too

no he probably wasn't their, but it is very easy to find the case histories that involve this kind of behavior when it comes to the RPD. case history's are public domain in these matters. so actually he sounds very well read. but go ahead officer or officer friend and family insult him

I don't think people should be so quick to judge. I have seen people pull out infront of fire trucks or police cars when they have their lights going and their sirens on. They don't even look to see if the emergency vehicle is coming their way. People can be that oblivious. I think we should wait for the results of the investigation before anyone passes judgement on the driver of the car or the police officer.

WHY did it take so many police and fire trucks??????
why hasn't the news or police asked if the other person who was more severely injured if they were ok.

This rpD thing is turning into a scary thing isn't it. why is it when an officer causes a accident the victim is given an ticket?

I hope the tape of this accident is reviewed by someone other then connected to the RPD.

Because the rpd is not going to show that they have unsafe practices at work.

ths is clumsy behavior by news and rpd.
before and investigation the victim is given a ticket. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. strange isnt it.

a officer involved in a crime or incident cannot be neutral in the matter his opinion is cosiderd bias. he/she has too much to invested in the outcome of the matter.

can you see it another cover-up by the Rochester Police is at hand

This whole story judges....
the person got a ticket before an investigation was looked at. before the video was looked at.

RPDsuks, it is actually pathetic how you rant about RPD. You obviously have no life and that is sad. The funny part is (ironic) if you were in a car accident, or called 911 in an emergency, RPD would help you even though you hate on them so much. You are no better yourself than what you make the police out to be. What do you do to help stop crime in the city? What do you do to help people in need? You run your mouth but there is so little substance to what you say.
