Hey tell Willy to the lower the gas and food prices, the next itme you see him. What part of the West Indies did you say he (Willy) was from again?

mirroronthewall wrote: <quoted text>Please don't be offended by me asking, have you talked to these youths in any length? We rely on too many reports, which are fine, but what is the objective. Is it to issue a report or to bring about positive changes? I have no doubt what you refer to is filled with many truthful and honest facts, but what is the next step? In my opinion, just my opinion, men of all cultures need to pool our talents and work towards positive solutions which will include a sacrifice of time and money. That's just my opinion. Do not worry about hurting my feelings. These boards are to post thoughts and ideas and you have as much right to express your views and I do mine. I taught school for over 30 years and so I have talked with some of these young men and have tried to teach them too. When you group any people, there are always exceptions but in general, when you have a young single mother with a teen son, you have a very difficult student to deal with. Usually, the school receives no support from the parent and the kid knows he will get away with just about anything. School rules are taken as personal challenges and studying is a joke. If you discipline one of these students, there is a good chance they will pull the race card. If you want a good correlation with bad behavior, I believe there is a positive correlation between young black males and the free and reduced lunch program. I could go on-and-on but I really do believe that the welfare system has caused many of our problems because it has destroyed families and this is especially so in black communities. It does not take a village to raise a child. It takes a family that instill positive values and that is what is missing. This isn’t about race it is about parenting. Sadly, the greatest destruction of the family unit has been in the black community and that makes it look like a race issue.

Gerry wrote: <quoted text> Would you prefer being called "reactionary black liberal"? Name calling does help. It puts in perspective what you do best. Why do I have to repeat your mistakes to be considered doing my part? I work with the people who need me the most, my wife and children. And for those young people who don't want to be a part of society, it starts with the absence of fathers. I would advice you to understand the relationship between black female financial independence and unemployable black males. Who are the women financially independent from? I am not angry, I am outraged at your tolerence for stupidity in the name of keeping it real!!! Per being afraid of mentoring, I am a husband and fathering, that takes a TODAY's real Black man to accomplish. I suggest you get the government to consider cloning or polygyny, because I am not going to save the world with gas prices at an all time high!!! What a copout! A "revolutionary black liberal" is a mythical character that doesn't exist. What's revolutionary about disagreeing, that's one of an "old loser's" privilege. You are completing the mistakes of many by not getting involved in mentoring those whom you've given up on. You can't even discern compassion when it is shown to you by others on this forum, that's how far removed from reality you've strayed. Many of us are married with children and grandchildren and not or never been on welfare and have taken the initiative to be involved in what has mushroomed into an crisis in our community. We keep talking about an absence of fathers as the major issue, but many men have been successful coming from a single parent home with the mother as the head of the household. Why have they succeeded and not the others? I don't believe you are who you say you are. I believe you are just someone on here who can barely read and is confused, because many things you attributed to my posts didn't exist. Also, I don't need the government to do anything for me except stay out of my paycheck. If you were given free gas, you wouldn't get involved, but continue to vent without solutions. Obviously, you're not aware of renewed interest of coming together to help in our community which Bill Cosby has been instrumental in. I guess he's a "revolutionary black liberal" who shouldn't be taken seriously!

I would have chosen a few different verbs but well said! mirroronthewall wrote: There are dummies of all cultures to be honest and truthful. So why are we pointing to one another. We are all full of dog manure but are in denial because of one's color, culture, religion, gender, etc. Each one thinks he or she is better than everyone else. Throughout history every culture has been involved in shameful behavior, no matter the year or era. So what!!! We all stink!!

bri wrote: first of all we dont go to da clubhouse to get into trouble...we go to have fun and i bet aint nobody up there think dat was gone happen It really does not matter why someone goes to "da clubhouse". Intent is not material to this issue. That place is a place of trouble. The police even said that shooting were expected. So going there to have fun is just plain stupid, unless you are looking for trouble and if you are, perhaps in a week or two, we will be writing about you. Think about it.

First, I would like to say I am a student in Clayton County! Therefore i have to stand it for what I am hearing, yes, Clayton County is infamous for alot of unwanted news but it isn’t as bad as the media makes it.
Now about the “da clubhouse” incident, I know several people who go and several who don’t. The ones that actually go just want to have a good time not thinking anything bad is going to happen. Their parents just want their kids to have fun as well, thinking it is a safe place.
And Clayton County has a curfew.. but it’s never inforced!

The problem with "da clubhouse" is that it's filled with Clayton County youth.
Violence is bound to happen very soon.

i cnat believe you guys believe what you heard on the news first of all there was no shooting at da club house. there was a shooting down the street from the club house. you can not hold da club house resposible for that. The people who runs that place has tight security and does not have any drama there. what you all need to be doing instead of putting bad mouth on a place that you dont even knoe about you should be asking the police officers that were there that night what happen. excuse i forgot if you do there gonna just lie to you like the news did. they were the ones shooting and the tazered your kids pepper sprayed them, chased them with dogs, arrested kids for no reason. they were the ones doing all the destruction. i dont care what they tell you they are liars and i would tell it to there face. i watched them with my own eyes do this to these teenagers that was trying to leave people that was driving in there car a tear gas was thrown inside there car on tara bld. i bet they wont tell you that. the teens that were inside had no problems but the people that were across the street and off the property they had to deal with that. im sorry to say it but the police officers are racist. there were no problem before they came. and they came inside with there weapons drawns at teens tryna have a good time yelling GET OUT. how is that suppose to keep them safe. if you really want to do something to help you should be checking up on the people that suppose to be protecting us. dont forget there are alot of crooked cops and that night all of them showed up.

First of all, I am one of the kids that was their during the shootings & personally I think you people are taking this out of hand. Yea, I know some kids got shot & I know thats serious but is it our fault the owner kicked us out like he did? No! He just said "Get the hell out!" Now hoe does that sound.
And for everyone's info, if da club house had better security, there wouldnt be so much choas. That was the FIRST shooting there. Compared to other places, thats good. I used to go to da clubhouse EVERY weekend.
So before you start making assumptions, learn about it first. I bet none of you have actually BEEN inside. So yea .. get your facts straight.

Chelsea, don't blame this on a lack of security. This is the fault of bad parenting. If people were taught how to behave and be respectful, this type of stuff wouldn't happen.

No one in my family ended up hanging out with people getting shot, shooting, or robbing people. What do you blame it on, Careless? You're probably the same "Careless" who thinks it's awful that a WORTHLESS THUG who planned on robbing innocent people ended up shot and killed. Do us all a favor and leave the forum!
