The grandmother's priorities - taking the babies away, and cleaning up before calling the authorities - may be a clue to why her daughter would be so callous as to allow her babies to become malnourished.

Hopefully, these two little ones will be okay and end up with someone who will love and appreciate them.

Good call, JMO. The grandmother would have probably been given temporary guardianship of the twins if she'd called the cops first. That she's required to report abuse yet tried to hide it is sad. Says much about her. I hope the babies can spend their lives in a stable, honest, law-abiding home. Doesn't seem like they'd have that chance living with their blood relations. Break the cycle.

I am glad that ALL of them got arrested. That grandmother should have known better than that as a parent and grandmother and she is in Special Education so she REALLY should have known better. Good for their tails!

What in the hell does race have to do with it? Why everytime makes a comment about race or political issues do they put it on blogs that have absolutely nothing to do with the subject being discussed?! Grow up or shut the heck up! Judgement day is coming, woe to those who sow evil!

I am trying not to judge this couple nor the Grandmom, but boy is it hard not too. It is so hard to conceive that a woman of Christi's (the grandmom's) status that she wouldn't know what was going on in her own child's life especially in her grandchildren's lives. If she doesn't have a relationship with her daughter, it's more than likely that its because the daughter made poor decisions that cut them off. But if she knew she had twin grandbabies why would she not know what shape they were in? Especially knowing her own daughter may not be the best one to take care of them? When you have children, aren't you supposed to love them unconditionally? She, Christi is in charge of repoprting child abuse? Where has she been for her own family?????

"The grandmother is employed by the Henry County Board of Education as a Special Education Coordinator." Wonder if she will be placed on administrative leave with full pay and bonuses? Hope parents demand that their 'academic bureaucrats' fire this individual. She has NO BUSINESS AROUND SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS!

I can honestly say that I cannot believe what I am reading!! I used to live right behind this couple. I knew when those babies were born. I moved out of the park before they were even able to come home from the hospital, so I never got to see them.

Jay (James) and Tessa offered to keep my son for me after my mom passed away last March, while I worked. I am so glad that I chose to keep him in daycare.

I know that what happened to these babies is in no way my fault, but I can't help but feel like if I still lived there, this wouldn't have come to this. I feel terrible for those babies and wish there was something I could do for them. I am very disappointed in Jay and Tessa, they were so excited to be having them, I can't believe they let this happen!! I pray that the babies are nursed back to health and given to a loving family that will take care of them and give them the love that they so deserve and I pray that Jay and Tessa pay for the crime they have committed and that they get counselling that they obviously need.

Before coming down to hard on the grandmother one should put themselves in her place. It appears she did think of the babies by having a relative come get them out of the house. How do we know that she was really trying to cover things up???? I can see finding her guilty if she made regular visits to the house and knew the parents were on drugs, but if this was her first visit then why was it wrong to give the babies to a relative to get them help before calling authorities?

I have to agree. I hate to admit but I'm very confused as to why she was arrested. She called the authorities on the parents after she looked to the safety of the kids. Was she supposed to not touch anything and wait for the police?

What did the relatives do after they got the kids and how long did they have them before authorities got them. Were they planning to take them to the hospital and just did not get the chance. How come the relatives were not arrested also. Why is she bound to report abuse outside of her job at school. Yes, these are probably silly sounding but the story left me with questions. I just think a little leeway should be given if this happened all in one day. Now if a week passed and she still did not report it then yes...maybe she made a bad decision.

Does anyone know how you would go about helping these babies? It is heartbreaking and I feel like I need to do something for them. I would even open my home but have no idea how to go about doing this. At the very least they need to be loved while they are getting better. They are in my prayers.

My husband and I would be happy to bring these babies home. I am a nurse in a office that helps kids with needs. If anyone has any adoption info we are serious. email@ missladie8@yahoo.com

I have known Tessa for awhile we met in church as children. I am very shocked to hear about this. She was so proud to be having these babies. I am very disappointed and sad. I have lost contact with her and I guess its a good thing in a way but if I didnt I feel like I could of helped those boys. I guess this is what drugs will do to someone but your own children?!?!?! WOW! May God bless these babies and bring them back to health and I hope Tessa and Jay get what they deserve and the help they need.:(

Wow, they had money to buy drugs , but were not feeding their kids.

I cant believe that the grandmother had no clue what was going on PRIOR to this. Had she never seen these kids before? If she knew about this then she should be charged.

Put these sorry ass parents in jail and give these babies to someone that will care for them. I fear for their safety if the parents are allowed to have them back.
