I thought involuntary servitude was against the law in the United States. When does Spota stop persecuting the nurses and why does he persist in this travesty of justice?

The nursing home paid for Spota. He's got to bend over and plow it. Or he's not going to get paid.

It's about time someone saw what this was really all about! Slavery went out a long time ago... and when the DA's office jumped in on this one I was wondering if it came back while I was sleeping!

glad to see you are still on the top of your game. Maybe he was a burglar. After all, didn't Spota's in house burglar make the case against the son in law as he did against for other burglars a very long time ago. Burglar+Murder+Informant = Ranking police official.

were spota'a boys trying to get the security contract for Sentosa? Strut out your stuff.

Where is the investigation by Newday of the owners of this slave business? Oh, right - Levy wants to sell the County nursing home to this company so they better get cleared.

Dear Tom Spota: We all know that the nursing home owners have "contributed" to several politicians. Now you're feeling pressure from those same politicians to continue prosecuting people who are asked to work here under slavery-like conditions.

Please end this charade now and save face. You stopped pursuing Marty Tankleff but still believe he killed his parents. Now stop prosecuting these people who never meant or did any harm to their patients.

Now let's talk about and actually do something about their poor working conditions, which is the reason they (the nurses) left the nursing home in the first place. Doctors and Dentists have got to stop treating nurses and auxiliaries as day labors and slaves.

Also, why do we have all of theses nurses coming in from the Phillipines and taking the jobs of American nurses? If they had fixed what was wrong with the working conditions of the American nurses there would'nt be the need to insource nurses from other countries. There's PLENTY of women that want to be nurses right here on Long Island. The Doctors have got to start treating them and paying them appropriately.

As the DA of a county having a population exceeding many states, he is encouraged to conduct investigations. He's trusted in performing his duties even if there's one constant critic with a disturbed mindset.

My prediction is the nurses unions get involved, Albany feels the heat and takes the case out of SC and gives it to the AG who in turn drops the whole thing.

Can anyone explain to me why Lato is assigned to the case? He is insurance crimes which this case isn't. Run262, since you claim to have a "bowling buddy" who is a Suffolk DA(the same one who assured you Martin Tankleff is guilty) can you check with him and see if he knows why Lato is in charge of this case?

It's a case of interpreting law. While NY is an employment at will state, everyone is free to come and go as they want. But when all these nurses quit together in protest, the DA said it violated some law that protects the vulnerable.

Tankleff's case pursuaded an ordinary jury of guilt then withstood many appeals before the judge ordered a new trial. Did you ever see the confession? Just like Pete's sil, I think the bum is guilty. I didn't realize I hit a raw nerve-will tone it down.

The bowler is a bureau chief. Could easily be making lots more money elsewhere but he remains because he's simply a good guy. More trustworthy than Bruce Barkett; Marty's lawyer who is seeking national fame and imaging himself a Johnny Corcoran.

Is it really against the law to quit your job? What about hospitals that continually operate short handed, to save money? Isn't that a crime too. There had to be a good reason for them to quit enmasse. Investigate that too.

Yes, RUN262, I have seen the 'confession', and it is as Bogus as you are.

The 'confession' is bogus in contents as to how it was written, and it is bogus as to the factual evidence of the crime scene.

It is bogus as to the sequence of events allegedly described by Tankleff in a 'confession' that was written entirely by McCready as to the order of the assaults on the parents. The blood evidence supports the theory that Seymour was attacked first, then his wife second. Not as Marty said, or allegedly said, his mother first, then his father. But you know better because you had 3, or is it 4 years as a cop, and then a Fire Captain in the NYFD.

There is NO evidence whatsoever that the knife and barbell was used in this murder case as Marty allegeldy said it was in the 'confession' NONE.

Even the Great FF and RUN must know every cop with a police academy experience would have a pre printed Miranda Rights form available to them, espceially in a homicide unit where Marty was interviewed, and such a form wasn't used? Give me a break.

That bombshell may come, or it may not come. It is no longer in my hands to bring to light.

I suspect that the appellate court will dismiss the indictment, but that is only an uneducated guess. And the person who will most benefit from a dismissal is none other than Thomas J.Spota, your hero and friend. He will no longer have to deal with this embarrassment he saw fit to bring upon himself with this bogus prosecution of the nurses.

That still doesn't explain why a DA from insurance crimes is prosecuting this case, this is quite strange.

As for Tankleff, yes indeed I did read the confession and it's amazing that none of it matched the crime scene. If events had occurred the way the police claim Tankleff said they did Arlene Tankleff's blood should have been smeared all over the back of Seymour Tankleff's office chair and at least one of Tankleff's pubic hairs should have been recovered from the parents bed (since there was this where police allege a struggle took place between Tankleff and his mother. And let's not forget the alleged murder weapon that magically had watermelon juice on it and no blood.

I wouldn't put too much weight in the jury that convicted him, remember a jury convicted the kids from the Central Park Jogger and look at what happened there!
