McCarthy needs to be thrown out on his rear end. The guy is, in my opinion, a crook. The Republicans should find someone honest to fill that seat.
Some of Vecchio's dealings have been questionable, but he's frugal and that has helped keep our town taxes down. I don't really want a tax and spend Democrat in the supervisor's position.

Schaeffer's lap dog Spota jumped thru the hoops and began his witch hunt against Vecchio to do another LaValle.

Schaeffer keeps Spota on a leash, a Winston Bulldog look-a-like, and when Schaeffer needs to unseat a pesky little fellow, he takes the chain off little Winston, tells him 'go get him boy'. For his reward for being a good dog, Winston is given a bowl of beer to lap up while his masters wine and dine at the expense of the taxpayers

Smithtown Town Supervisor is not 80 years old. He was born in September, 1930, making him 78.

The guy is old...retire for Gods' sake. Do they make concessions for him to take afternoon naps?

No Vecchio naps at town meetings. I think if the people of Smithtown want honest leadership, they should seriously consider Biancanello for supervisor. I personally know for a fact that PB listens to constituents and doesn't just brush people off. That, and she's not part of the Smithtown corruption machine that is becoming more and more impossible to ignore. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the town's corruption is going to catch up to Mr. Vecchio, perhaps it's time to root out this problem now.

Yes, but 80 sounds older than 78.

$99.99 is not $100.00 either. In Vecchio's case it is done in reverse.

If you folks don't see what Spota is doing with his witch hunts, then you are hopeless.

There will always be some corruption in government no matter who is in office. The question to decide if there is greater good than it is bad.

All one has to do is take a ride thru Smithtown to realize that the Town of Smithtown is the pearl of Suffolk County, not dredges of the other towns of Suffolk County.

Spota has already caused LaValle to withdraw his bid for re-election for Brookhaven Supervisor, and was even on the podium for the new supervisor when he announced his victory.

Spota is now the subject of a federal civil rights lawsuit for his abuse of power when his detectives terrorized a Patchogue worker to give testimony they wanted to hear so they could proscute LaValle for corruption.

Tim Mazzei, Spota's former law partner, and partner in crime at the DA's office is now running for Brookhaven Supervisor. You would have to be dear, dumb, and blind not to realize that Spota is supporting Mazzei, despite the fact he is a Republican - in name only.

Uhm......The Town of Smithtown has been sold out, plain and simple. They give everything away to the businesses and trample their residents. Smithtown is 95% developed, and every last piece of open land is being sold and developed for condos and Starbucks, banks, etc. It's really getting run straight into the ground. Oh, and corruption is corruption. Sitting there and saying that there is always some corruption in government wreaks of complacency and by no means makes it right. The taxpayers in Smithtown are the victims of this corruption. It's time to shake things up around here.

Corruption is corruption and Smithtown is full of it. We need an overhaul. Keeping Pat Biacchiello is allowing it to continue. She Wehrheim mCcarthy and Vecchio should be ousted, They were all on the council when it went down and they had to know all about it. can't the Dems come up with someone new?

I've lived in Smithtown for the past 30 years and Pat Vecchio has been a great supervisor. However, it's probably time for him to retire.

What about all the eyesores throughout Smithtown? Smithtown Hospital on Rt. 347 for one....Main St. is horrible, looks awful, and with what I am paying for taxes, it's bull! We need a serious change, and change with all in the Smithtown govt.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Libra

It's Christmas Eve and you're running around like a scalded cat. However, it will do you no end of good if you can find a few moments here and there for some quiet contemplation. You might want to visit a place that's sacred to you, or take a walk in some beautiful surroundings so you can commune with nature. You need to feel that you're connecting with something bigger than yourself.
