What's next for area casinos?

The road that leads to a Michigan casino could be getting shorter. Michigan currently has more than 20 casinos either open or on the drawing board.

WOOD TV 8 & Joe LaFurgey,
Why do your reports of the Indian casinos in Michigan have such negative conotations? How dare you consider yourselves news people with your biased opinions. Michigan supports gaming with the Lottery and the Detroit casinos. Is it due to Secchia's wish to build a casino in GR and others that want gambling in the horse racing industry to help their lagging profits.
Your racism is showing.

How is the opinion of building or not building a casino connected to 'racism'? The issue is gambling. It's really tiring to have so many issues being reduced to racism. It seems that if an opinion presented is different than that of the reader, it's got to be racism.

Let them build the casino and let those that want to go and go and enjoy it. I for one would much rather throw money on a poker table than I would give it to Granmole for her left wing liberal welfare programs. It is my money and I should be the one to choose where it goes. I will pay my fair share of taxes to better the roads, schools and public safety. But enough of these liberal groups trying to stop all these casinos and funnel what is left of my paycheck to the welfare programs. Enough is enough...

hey check your facts new 8....the state did violate their agreement so the payments were held but it you read the GR Press lately you would know the state and indian tribes came to an agreement in MARCH!!!!! The state now gets 6% instead of 8%---which is more than they should be the state choose to violate the contract not the TRIBES!!!!!!!! So once again the white man screws the indians and the white man still complains, complains, complains.....

I can tell by your typing that you must be port huron's finest! Don't you see Port Huron declining more and more everyday! We need something to boost our economy NOW!!! We need more jobs!!! Our families are being affected by unemployment, not by a casino coming into our town.

Wow, how about proofreading before submitting? It is hard to understand what you are trying to state when your grammar and spelling contain so many errors..
Sigh

Gambling is going to exist whether the economy is booming or declining. This state needs more jobs. If a legal gambling establishment brings jobs, then so be it.
