Plastech formerly Ldm technologys in Port Huron has closed it's doors!!!!no warning to any workers !!! rumors of Bancrupcy by an office worker has us in awe!!Also rumors of Chrysler pull out!!!last month found that they have shut down all sorts of plants including the one in Croswell. Is this is whats going to go on in Michigan?? closed plants ,then local economy will suffer people will have to move away for work, possibly out of state. So many people looking for work already, this reality of the big 3 closings and pull outs, cutbacks and so fourth is now a reality for us here in Port Huron. You never think it could happen to you but guess it's a snowball effect that has not only Michigan in a downward spiral, but the auto industry in general. This is so sad to think that these companies could have given a least a warning of this.People will be going to work on the 3rd shift sun. night to find locked doors?? this is soooo wrong!!!1

It's so sad to see a great plant like the former LDM plant in Port Huron closing it's doors. Several years ago I worked at that plant when it was Huron Plastics. I know many of those older Huron people were still at the plant when the doors shut on Friday. We have been brainwashed into believing that an organized work force (unions) are a bad thing. How wrong we are. More than ever before in the history of this state are strong, smart unions needed. We trusted companies like Plastech to consider the well being of their employees, their employees held up their end by working hard and being productive and look at what they and so many other Michigan workers have gotten. No jobs, no benefits, no future in this state. Unless we stand up and change the way Americans think about where they shop and what they buy, we will all end up at Walmart or Micky Dee's. No matter what the politicians and the media tells you, it's national suicide to enter into free trade agreements with countries that pay their employees two or three bucks an hour. WAKE UP MICHIGAN! Tell your representatives you have had enough. Put the brakes on moving these jobs overseas. No matter what you may think, Chrysler, Ford and GM will get their parts made somewhere. More than likely in China or Mexico. Believe me the jobs that were being done in Port Huron will be done somewhere else, and soon!
