I don't live in Kansas anymore but I still consider Kansas as my home. After retiring from the Navy we are far better to have a Republican in Office than a socialist!
I don't know where this President came from I don't care! But the American people need to wake up and smell the coffee! Borrowing a Trillion dollars or more was a totally mistake and congress should of never let it happen. Where is Bob Dole when we need him and 52% out of work well that's the worst it's been in years and these people that follow this idiot I have no simpithy for them!

Bob Dole was recently hospitalized and is probably not long for this world. He represents a bygone era, when civility and collaboration between parties was the norm, and most people did not make stupid statements like saying they did not know where the President came from and pretending they know what a socialist is when they are too illiterate to spell sympathy correctly.

When I taught undergraduates, such things as saying "should of" instead of "should have" was an automatic drop of one letter grade.

Yeah, ol` Stacy is a Rhodes Scholar, alright. He`s only off by 42.4% on his unemployment number. He must be on that Muscogee marijuana or LSD.

Mr.Kangaroo

I see so much anger in your words, you scare me I think maybe you have some serious underlying hurt that you can not put your finger on so you express it in a manner that makes you come off somewhat arrogant when maybe you are just aking for someone to like you.

Lexi, I am angry at the right-wing faction which has done much to stifle progress in this country since the election of their savior, that genial idiot Ronald Wilson Reagan. I don't really care whether people I don't know like me or not. But I can certainly see the weaknesses of those who don't, the teabaggers who want to put down poor folks because of their own insecurities.

How would you define "progress"?

Good question. Less poverty, better education, better healthcare, more access to social services, more freedom, better housing, and so forth....IOW pretty much in line with Democratic Party platforms.

I've attended 2 Tea Party meetings here in town, although I'm not an official member.Have you gone to any? Can you tell me a few things they've said/done that has held back the poor and cut across the grain of the issues you've listed? By the way its "Tea Party" not Tea Bag. I'm deducting a point from your grade.

Did you see the protestor across the street when this Republican front group rallied at City Hall? That was me.

Opposing HCR is certainly sufficient, especially the manner in which it was done: red faced, screaming, lying, armed, and nasty.

I'm going to keep calling them "teabaggers" as long as Republican spokespeople still refer to "The Democrat Party" and for the exact same reason.

Brownback won so this thread is useless now. Now he has to govern and we will most certainly see who benefits the most and who it costs the most. And who pays for those who benefit the most.

Much of his and his staff's energy will be devoted to political payoffs to religious right extremists, like the batsh!t crazy Catholic farmers who adorn their fields with bizarre anti-abortion billboards. Then the attorney general will needlessly have to defend unconstitutional abortion restrictions in court. None of this, of course, will reduce the abortion rate one iota.

As far as I can tell the opposition is not to health care reform but government run health care. I have been reviewing as many articles as I can on the Internet and find no mention of anyone being armed, neither did I see anyone armed. I have been to high school pep rallies that were nastier than the meetings I saw. We used to yell,“Fight ‘um, beat ‘um, defeat ‘um” at my school. About 50 Wichita Coffee Party protesters took up a position on the sidewalk at the corner of Main and Central but some of their group carried signs into the Tea party crowd where a few spirited debates broke out. The Coffee Party were the true aggressors as far as I‘m concerned. Anyway, enjoy your posts. You seem to have quite a following.

Wonder how much it cost the US Government insurance to keep Bob Dole in the hospital for 10 months last year?

The government does not have insurance or need it. They (congress and senate) have us tax payers to foot the bill for thier universal health care that they by law deny us. We can however bailout insurance companies by paying premiums so they can deny us.
By government run health care I am assuming you are talking about veterans benefits guaranteed by law. People in prison's health care is guaranteed by law. Emergency room treatment is guaranteed by law. congress and senate health care is guaranteed by law. You and I are guaranteed to pay only and die if we don't have the money for treatment or go bankrupt trying to pay. Could that be considered a form of health care rationing by law and as such government health care.

It's my view the opposition to HCR is due to change, not anything specific. As people understand more what's included in it, opposition has become muted. There were some people at tea bag rallies with signs that said "keep your hands off my Medicare."
I have been reviewing as many articles as I can on the Internet and find no mention of anyone being armed, neither did I see anyone armed.
To be fair there have limited amounts of tea bag people packing, but there have been some. At a previous Giffords town meeting in Tuscon somebody dropped a gun. Some people really believe, against all evidence, Obama wants to take people's guns away.
Anyway, enjoy your posts. You seem to have quite a following.

Daily Horoscope for June 3

Sagittarius

You're in the mood to spend today, especially on the spur of the moment. Be careful if you can't afford to make any impulse purchases, because a lack of cash won't stop you! If you do decide to splash out on something, you may be disappointed when you get it home and you might even decide to take it back.
