I am wondering if anyone there can help with a problem -- I was an independent contractor with ANP Transcriptions there in Suffern. I live in the midwest and have no way of getting them to pay me my last paycheck in the amount of $88. They have thus far advised that:

10/19/09 telephone conversation: the check was processed on October 3, 2009

10/27/09 email: my invoice was late and the check was processed late

10/27/09 email: you should receive your check shortly.

10/29/09: still no check.

Insofar as other complaints made about this company are for non-payment for work done, I am worried they will try to take advantage of the work I did and try to get away with not paying me as they've done with other Independent Contractors.

Is there anyone out there who has advice on this matter? We are already wrapped up here in dealing with our four year old daughter's medical issues for what may be a tumor or a series of small strokes, I have no time or energy to donate to these games. Advice or help, anyone? There seems to be little I can do from where I sit except continually contact them. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB on Monday, November 2, 2009, but that is also a huge chunk of time needed, and our plates are already full. We are a single income family (i need to be at home for my daughter who has apraxia, developmental delays and sensory processing disorder, she is unable to talk at 4 years old and therefor unable to tell me what's wrong when her head hurts or if something happens to her during her day). We could really use the money for the medical costs we are incurring for my daughter's treatment. Any advice is welcome.
