Kane receives bad rap from business owner

Full story: The Kane Republican

Shedio Logging of Slippery Rock invested in Kane in 2006 when it purchased the dilapidated Kane Handle plant property for $70,000. But, after losing the battle with local government officials over their bid for a partial property tax exoneration for 2007, the owners wish they had never made the deal.

'Kane' maintains interests in South Florida, and businesses operating in Kane, PA, are privately (some say secretly) expected to facilitate that claim -- said claim including permanent or seasonal residencies within that sub/tropical climactic region.

First of all Marcia I do not believe a thing you say. Unless you have some facts to back up your stories I think you are all bunk! Second, I am glad this place got shot down on their request. McKean County is hurting for revenue as well as Kane is I'm sure. Including the school district taxes. Maybe in 2007 they should have follow the 45 day time frame to get the property re-assessed legally. Why didn't their lawyer handle this properly? Miscommunication?? Seriously! Third: Just to name a couple of examples in Bradford that are going sour - Bradford Forest Products got a 10 year tax exemption of some sort given and with that time up they have laid off most of their employees, made their money, rolled up the carpets, and all but pulled out of town with very little hope of anyone going back to work. Another place is Microtek - whatever - that might have 25 employees - was issued a gazillion dollars in grant money - the owners whole family drives around town in their own Hummer, huge gas guzzler, but when their deal is over - we all know they will quietly move on to the next town who will give them more free money with no taxes. So I say, Good for you Kane and McKean County for standing up for yourselves and telling them if you want it - pay for it - like everyone else does!

'Kanner Highway' in South Florida definitely has its own wavelength -- seldom any deaths directly nearby or upon, but does have a 'cemetery row'.

I still have no idea WTH you are talking South Florida for. The topic here is KANE, PENNSYLVANIA, and that would include MCKEAN COUNTY. So please do not refer to South Florida anymore and stick to the subject. Oh yeah the subject was the people who bought property in Kane, PA and were looking for some tax breaks.
