Gas stations in Beckley

Why is it that Beckley gas stations only went down 2 cents this week? Everywhere else up and down the pike is cheaper than us. Even before this week. Wythville, VA it was 3.75 a gallon, which means it is even cheaper now. Even in Lewisburg it is cheaper than us. And when it goes down everywhere else, we only go down a few cents. And I am talking about the same companies we have here are the ones in the other areas that have it cheaper. They say its because Beckly is the hub. Why in the world are we the hub? We have never been the hub before. Why is it that every station in this town is the same price? None of this makes sense to me. They are just taking advantage of us. I know severl people, plus myself who will drive all the way to Wythville for my gas.

I use to work at a gas station and when the prices changed sometimes it didnt change in Princeton or Lewisburg due to being close to the VA. border. They wanted the prices to stay close to the same as the VA. gas so people in that area wouldnt go across state line to get gas.
Ive always been told that Beckley is about a tankfull of gas close to major vacation spots so they fill up here. Dont make sense to me. I would just get enough to where I would make it to VA to fill up. If these gas station owners were smart, they would lower the gas here so the people on vacation would fill up here instead of elsewhere. But hey, what would I know. I was just a manager.

I live in Lewisburg, which is cheaper, 3.97, but I drive a diesel and in Beckley diesel is 4.89, I went to Covington yesterday and it was only 4.49. .40 cents is an absurd difference, they can't blame that much on taxes.

We just came back from South Carolina. We don't even dare fill our gas tank until we hit Va.. No, no, no.. and an the way back, we fill it again before we get into WV.

In S.C., they were debating "if" their gas would reach 4.00 a gallon... sheesh

Beckley has always been a crock when it comes to gas prices...

We were in Florida a mouth ago and it was cheaper at Disney Resort Park then it is here. Does that make sense? And why did the gas staions use to have different prices but not now. They are all the same. I think that is called price gauging. I tell everyone I know that they should keep enough gas to get out of town and go fill up where the gas is cheaper, which is anywhere but here. RIGHT!!!!

Down a few more cents here in Beckley while it is getting even cheaper in the surrounding area's. Why, why, why. Because we are the HUB. Give me a break.

We live in Beckley but are in Pigeon Forge right now where gas is only 3.67
Had to pass thru Rainelle the other day and gas was only 3.99 so you can bet I filled up on my way out of town!!! Need to watch the Exxon in Daniels real close...I paid 4.15 a gallon there once when it was cheaper everywhere else in the area (I did not know it at the time) I was not happy when I found out either!!
And I hear on the news that people are not traveling and spending as much but let me tell you here at dollywood/pigeon forge you would not know that, the place is as busy and crowded as ever before!!!

I've always believed there's some sort of illegal activity going on in Beckley to keep gas prices high.

They should give us some KY jelly at the pump for the screwing they give us each time. Princetons is $3.86 at little general and beckley little general is $4.09 Someone needs to contact the ATTY Gen.

You are so right Hooter lover. When it is lower everywhere else Beckley is still giving us a few cents a day. I agree with Mr TMP too. I have always wondered what happened here in Beckley. The stations all use to have different prices but not for the past few years. What happened that they all started having the same price. In NC the stations still have different prices. Why not here? I wish someone could tell me what is going on in Beckley.

Did you see the article by the editor in Tue. morning paper. I loved what he said and he was right on. I am gladd someone else has decided that the gas prices around here are Totally Unfair.

Thank you TMP. I hope that maybe something we have said on here might trigger lower gas prices for Beckley people. I do hope someone of importance is reading these things and see how unhappy we voters are with how things are going.

Havent you heard...they are putting TV's in at the pumps that are going to play porn so you can watch someone get screwed right along with you.

ok gas stations in beckley. your prices are still too high, after two weeks of prices dropping all around us. what are you doing still up to 4.00 and above? Haven't you heard that gas has dropped? Or maybe you have heard but you don't think it applys to the stations in Beckley.

I went to Princeton today and it was $3.85. I about died, I cant believe how much cheaper it is there and its only 45 minutes down the road. This is ridiculous. Im tempted to drive to another town to fill up.

My husband and I were just discussing this over the weekend. I wonder how the gas stations in Beckley would react if we gathered a bunch of volunteers to stand by the entrance to each gas station with signs that encourage travelers to go just 30 more miles up the interstate and get their gas 30 cents cheaper! We can call it the "30 for 30" campaign. I'll have to research the legalities but if anyone is interested in participating, let me know. I'm willing to give up a Saturday afternoon to force the prices down...what about you? I believe it's time we take matters into our own hands and exercise our right to peaceful demonstration!

gas is also 50 cents cheaper in ohio! isn't wv supposed to be one of the poorest states? why do we pay more for gas? if gas is gonna stay up we need a cost of living raise for everyone!
