Bishop Thomas Gumbleton is a Pro Justice Bishop who has spent his entire life working toward a peaceful and more loving world. My goodness, these witch hunts the Vatican is promoting are making the Salem trials look humane. What a sad day for all people. I wonder where the implosion of the RC Church will lead to?

Barb, the Bible specifically states that homosexual acts are considered sinful. If the good bishop were following the tenets of the Bible AND the Church, he wouldn't be banned.

Loving someone doesn't mean that you condone all actions.

Thankfully, there we have many more leaders in the Church now who are willng to stand up and be persecuted for biblical beliefs and actions.

... as opposed to the Bishop, who is willing to stand up and be persecuted for being in touch with reality.

I agree he is in touch with reality- but the reality of our depraved culture, sadly.

He's way off from natural and biblical truth, so, yeah, he will continue to be rebuked.

If you don't believe in the Bible or its ideas, why would you want anyone to condemn someone for ANY biblical mandates?

Yes, rebuked for the truth of reality. I'm glad to see us in agreement.

So, he's going to get rebuked. Do you think he didn't know that ahead of time?

Church and reality aren't not compatible.

Funny, most of the priests that I have met are gayer than a $2.00 hooker.....

Dear liar,

No one here said that bishops who condone working on Sundays should be condemned.

The poster asked your insane, sexually disordered azz why you can't be consistent in you buybull "beliefs" and likewise condemn bishops who countenance other "sinners."

It's not that hard to figure out, even for an unhinged liar like yourself. Now answer the question honestly, Jethro, or burn in hell.

Amen.

Good. We don't need anymore gays in the church becoming priests to molest our children.

And only gay people molest children, right? Gay or straight, nobody wants a priest, or anyone else for that matter, molesting children. Why would you even post this nonsense? Straight people go to jail all the time for molesting children...that's what the Catholic church should be worrying about instead of this bishop!

That's right! Ban the homosexuals but keep on enlisting the pedophiles who have been, currently are and will continue to molest your children.

If you actually wanted to protect your kids, one would think you'd start by looking in the right places! No wonder the problem continues.

Gumbleton sounds like a dope. Thank God good men are once again in charge of the Church.

Homosexual-loving priests like Gumbleton are partly to blame for the rash of homosexual abuse cases in the Church in the '80's and '90's. 83% of the so-called "child abuse" cases were homosexual and involved 11-15 year old boys. Liberals like Gumbleton allowed and encouraged horny homo's to attend seminaries, and the result was horribly damaged young men and 500 Million paid out to lawyers. In retrospect the Boy Scouts did a much better job of protecting their young men from the predators.

Where'd you get those rediculous statistics.....the church? But of course.
Even the Boy Scouts know that openly gay men molest boys at a lower rate than the so called heterosexual men. That's why molestation continues at the average rate of on report of child abuse a day in the Scouts. Wonder how many don't get reported?

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Capricorn

Mercury retrograde in your sign will cause some friction between you and other people during coming weeks. Matters that have been bubbling away in the background will come to the boil, forcing you to do something about them. Try not to overreact, nor to create a crisis out of something that's really very minor. You should also keep a strong sense of fair play and pay attention to every little detail.
