Our local TV station, TV6, had interviews with a nurse and the Health Department spokesman.

Nurse says "yes medical marijuana works" but the Health Department guy stuck to his lifelong agenda saying that weed is evil.

I say this: doctors/nurses sould use whatever they feel works. They took a Hypocratic oath.

Police want you to think weed is evil because they are scared of the people on real drugs like coke and heroin, and this solves no problems. It makes kind weed-smoking buddha hippies look to be in the same league as assassins.

Tell me UPSET (UPSET is the corrupt drug busting outfit in Marquette County):

How MANY people you know have died in car accidents caused by drunk drivers and how NIL people have died smoking weed?

I anticipate the police lying to everyone and saying they know better than doctors/nurses but they have their own asses to account for years of lies about a harmless leaf that isn't any more dangerous than coffee, and no comparison to alcohol.

Well the police have always said that marijuana is a gateway drug, but all people witha brain know it's the illegality that's the gateway.

Thanks!

I agree... Marijuana isnt bad for you, in comparison to booze. For the record I have not smoked pot for almost 5 years. But I support the legalization of it. UPSET = Corrupt... Yes

When my older brother smoked in high school, my ma called the cops and turned him in.

When my oldest brother was dieing of aids, she bought him some smoke.... he and his dieing aids friends were licensed to toke legally then they changed the damn laws...

He had to pay lots and lots of money for pills to combat nausea, pills to increase appetite, pills to fight the pain, pills to cause him to ignore the sores thru his entire mouth... that caused pain to eat...

So he was expected to pay, for 4 to 5 different pills. Wiped out all his savings, his retirement funds, mortgaged his house, lost his house to the medical bills.

When before a simple toke took care of all the symptoms.

I am dedicating at least $400 of my hard hard earned money on the PROP 1 vote... COMPASSION before corporate profits !!

To deny suffering people relief, to deny dieing people relief... is inhumane and un-american.

Always in moderation and for medicinal purposes only. Maybe for the occasion cookout around the campfire.

Or just legalize it like alcohol and use the funds to erase the state debt.

I think that Michigan has made a big mistake in the outcome of this vote. Look at Cali. They have a huge problem with the people buying weed legally and sell it to other illegally. Besides according to Federal law no stated law can supersede a federal law. I would interpret this as no matter what the state votes marijuana is still illegal.

No, we don't. The people of California have realized long ago that cannabis is far less harmful than other legally available substances, such as alcohol and tobacco. That's why California decriminalized the possession of small amounts of marijuana for personal use (pursuant to the recommendations of the Shafer Commission)in 1973. Marijuana usage rates are the same in states that have decriminalized and those that have not. Since California passed the Compassionate Use Act of 1996, there has not been a noticable problem with the transfer, or re-sale, of medical marijuana to unathorized users.

I'm a CA native...been a cop here for the past 18 years...and no, I haven't seen a problem with legal buyers re-selling to unauthorized users. It is expensive to buy medical marijuana from a dispensary. There is no room for resale profit. Anyway's, it's already readily available on the streets, to anyone who wants it. And yes, it does make sense to regulate growers and dispensaries. But there really have been no big problems, it's all just propaganda and lies....it does make for an eye catching headline though...
