As usual, the people of WI are lucky and wise to have elected representatives with true courage. So a few selfish stupid drunks are too greedy to part with a few pennies for their next drunk, tough $#!+. Everyone can hope that once we finally get rid of Timmy and elect one of the many fine DFLers into the governor's post, we'll do likewise and finally raise the taxes on this unnecessary and harmful product that puts it out of the reach of our children.

What other sins would you tax out of existance? You have already tried this with
cigarettes. How about gambling? That is just as
addictive and destructive as alchohol is in the wrong hands. But then what would
Dems do without that revenue stream?

I am somewhat curious; when did God abdicate the throne and leave you in charge?
You sure seem to think he has. Not just on this subject, either. Gov't is a very
necessary entity, and needs to be funded. But you don't want gov't to govern, you
want it to rule; that is, unless you are not in charge of it. Then it needs to be
replaced. Sounds like a lot of countries..........
just not this one.

some previous posters need guidance from cradle to grave , problem is they were born in the wrong country , they should visit some of the countries with total control of their lives and see what a paradise it is.

<quoted text>Well, cigarettes are still around so the taxes on them can't be all that high. Gambling shouldn't be taxed but the winnings should be. The harmful effects could be mitigated if people knew they wouldn't win enough to change their lives. As for God, well that's just an artificial fiction that has no relevance in the real world. The only instrument in the real world with the power to help transform people and society to improvement is gov't, and you yourself agree that it is necessary, and presumably, desirable. Govern, rule? A distinction without a difference.
Man, talk about ask a stupid question and get..........
well, you know.
:)

It is refreshing to see a touch of honesty, however. You trash
God, but not religion, as liberalism is a religion to you. And
it also shows an inside look at the far left's ideas; thank you.
No difference between governing and ruling..........
let's hope, for your sake, that the opposite viewpoint never takes
total control, because I won't even be able to say "God help us".

I gave up years ago trying to convince some people about God; in
time we will all see that for ourselves. But when you believe
people have the power to "rule" over others..........
then you, my misguided friend, scare the ---- out of me.

As the girl said to Ebenezer, "may you be happy in the life you
have chosen". I couldn't be.

Take care.
