"Barnes said his own rap sheet includes arrests in at least five states, making him qualified to help others who make mistakes. "

Actually, that would make him UNqualified to advise others.

What a guy! And a God fearing member of a church as well! Wow!

Ran into a few of his students yesterday evening just north of Rice Street off University who were wielding baseball bats and trying to pound each other as they stopped traffic and carried out their 4 on 4 skirmish in the middle of a busy street. I am sure that they are honor students all with great futures ahead of them but just needed to let off a little steam. Hell, maybe some of the eight lads will end up with a room with a view in Stillwater with the chance to have their sphincters exercised on a fairly regular basis.

Just great citizens all!

So sad the baby lost her life.

Barnes on the other hand sounds like a real piece of work. Thy Kingdom Come World Ministries sounds like a scam to me. The guy is a child molester, oh wait he has found God-Thats what they all say!

yikes, ruff crowd! sounds like a good ministry in theory, but seems like barnes needs much more recovery time himself before he can have a positive influence. that's why the apostle paul warned against ordaining a novice.

So sad that this little innocent girl had to loser her life over something so trivial.
On a side note, this has got to be one of the mose poorly written articles I've read in a long time.
and yes, this church sounds like a huge scam....praise the lord.

Many people do things and hide under the name of God. Christian Rock playing at a murdered child's funeral? Give me a break. Satan has quite the warped sense of humor. Now, instead of "holy men" and "prophets" taking 7 to 8 14 year olds as their wives and expanding their ridiculous community "in the name of god"...we've got rapists, murderers and convicts creating their own little worlds as well. The character of human kind has dwindled and demoralized down to a bunch of sadistic pigs. What kind of species kills off their young so violently and so often? It's hard to see the light and the good in the world anymore when we keep hearing stories like these.
Poor child.

Where was the mother when all this was going on? Or, did I miss that part? It's beyond horrible what happened to an innocent life. Wasn't there anyone there that could have intervened? I just hope that they get more than a slap on the wrist. This so called minister, why is God's green earth, isn't he in jail????

A bunch of bad seeds all the way around. I hope the town is successful in removing these cockroaches and their so-called church. May the little girl rest in peace in a better place.

Hankins should be charged also. He beat this Collins guy up earlier in the day. Look at his mug shot, so this was more than a beef over the washer and dryer!

$20.00 Dollars over a washer and dryer, guess I can see where it would be worth getting a baseball bat,and going to church to get into a fight and Killed this poor little girl that had nothing to do with this arguement.(sarcasm)
Both these morons should be taken out and beat to death with bats. And that part about the wife stating that her husband didn't see the kid when he swung the bat,You need to get your head out of your A**.your as big of a moron as your husband, someone needs to slap you in the back of the head...Your old man killed a kid with a baseball bat. That should make you feel real proud of him. What did he need that $20.00 Bucks so could buy you crack after church,or what ??
Badgerone said it once and I quote; Some people are alive simply because it's against the law to kill them.

The mother was right there defending her man. Hankins is not the father of the baby. These so called Christians did not even bother to notify the the childs biological father of the hideous crime. They all should be charged including Pastor Pimp (Barnes). I am the grandfather of Sherry's two sons and I do not want my granson's nowhere near that church. I just hope and pray that they get her other daughter out of that environment before something horrible happens to her. God Bless Aundrea (RIP).

Good point. A person wouldn't want a flight instructor that's wrecked a bunch of planes or a doctor that's botched a lot of operations. Neither would you want someone "helping" you that can't even stay out of trouble with the law. Barnes is scum, period.

not to defend anyone's behavior who attends or barnes' qualifications at this place, but the idea of a bunch of sinners meeting together to seek the Lord & turn their lives around probably resembles what 'church' is intended to be more so than a group of folks meeting under ornate conditions in their sunday best acting like they have it all together & who are bored out of their skulls while some stuffy clergy recites religious mumbojumbo.

just a thought......

And just how do *you* know what "church" is intended to be? Just a thought.

judging me w/3 negatives & yourself w/3 positives, huh? i hope that boosts your confidence, mrs r!

well a couple things Jesus said stand-out regarding the topic:

"i haven't come to call the the righteous, but for sinners to repent"

"the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost"

"those who are whole have no need of the Physician; but those who are sick"

"because you say that you see; your sin remains...."
