Hurray for the mayor and the council - do not back down on the billing of the church. This will only set a standard and every church and organization in the country will house illegals. I certainly don't like to see a mother and child separated but how about they spend the time in Mexico together and come back legal.

She has a bleeding heart mentality.

"I will be the first in line to send a donation to that little church and to the ACLU to push ahead with this court case and see to it that their efforts to set yet another racist precedent are thwarted."

Supporting the ACLU and calling those who wanted a convicted criminal illegal alien to be deported "racists" sure doesn't get it.

I love it when bi-polar, outhouse philosophers like yourself label those with dissenting opinions as 'racists','KKK,'white supremists' and other idiotic proclamations.

I've been reading all your posts closely. None of them I've read to date appear to be substantiated by the remotest of empirical evidence.

Are you so stupid as to actually beleive that our poor excuses for leaders in Washington will listen to reason? Think again. This fight will be one one way and one way only. Through swaying the opinion of the American voter.

Once you get past the PC'ism and the evil monikers that are spread by those who fear confronting the issue of what hispanic illegals and their hispanic supporters are doing to our country, this is a particularly easy issue to deal with.

It's time for Americans to say what they think. Period. Sure, their should be elements of decorum to all rational discussions. Unfortunately the time for decorum relative to this issue is over.

Tough patriots with hard hearts will save our country from itself.

This battle will be won without a shot being fired. Violence isn't necessary.

The will of the American people will prevail. It's just a matter of getting the easily verifiable facts on the street.

Now get back on your meds, and stay away from sharp onjects.

Dude, you're the one trippin here. You obviously haven't read any of my other posts. It's not a matter of a differening opinion with KKK and white supremists, oh wait, are you one?

It will indeed be the citizens who get the issue resolved. It's won't be the KKK or white supremists who only give ammunition to their racist counterparts in La Raza, et.al.

What percentage of the population are white supremists?.005?.05?.5? That leaves a hell of a lot of white people who do not share your beliefs, with the vast majority wishing that you would just fall off of the face of the planet.

I will continue to tell white supremist racists how wrong they are, as well as Brown or black supremists.

I do agree with this that you wrote:

I see your point. What I don't see is any factual data to disprove my assertions.

Please discard political correctness and provide facts versus generalizations.

I'm ready for the debate. Let the games begin!

Notice: I find this thread, its title and several of the comments extremely disturbing. Racism is as illegal as defamation and promoting hate.

I'm removing any trace of topix.net from my computer immediately and if I hear a whisper of open hate from this site ever again I will take legal action. This is disgraceful.

I wrote that blog post and I have no apologies for its title. As far as my characterization of the actions of Simi as racist and bigoted, they are.

Unfortunately, racism isn't illegal. It happens every day, in small ways. Sending a bill to that church was intended to punish them for having the temerity to protect a young woman and her infant from deportation, despite her marriage to a legal resident who is also the father of her child.

The same folks who stand so righteously in favor of 'preserving the family' are the ones who want this family to be irretrievably fractured. That's hypocrisy borne out of the racist ideas that PSL above spews.

The next time anyone serves up strawberry shortcake, salad or other produce in this area, they should remember that it got to their table via the hands of the workers they want to send back. The same goes for any number of other products and services they enjoy.

And to the first commenter, all I can say is your idealism even surpasses mine. "Come back legal." Yeah, right. It would be funny if it weren't so impossibly sad.

A 'bleeding heart' liberal? Maybe. I'll own that term over 'cold-hearted bigot'.

I hate illegals. 80% of them are latino. So I mainly hate latino illegals. So you'll take legal action against TOPIX for my OPINION? With idiots like you defending illegals, they won't be "taking over" anytime soon. Moron.

So why be offended when someone calls us racist? I don't hate latinos, only ILLEGAL ones. That's not racism, it's nationalism.

I stopped being "polite" a while ago. It isn't productive. LOL

Attorney Peter Bibring must have been asleep when he took constitutional law in law school. There is NO sanctuary in the constitution that protects a person hiding in a church. If you do not believe me ask him to pull out the constitution and show you. It might be on the same page as, “separation of church and state” which is not in the constitution or Bill of rights either. I would love to know where he received his law degree.

This I've heard like a broken record from those who believe the Church is interfering with their personal liberties...."separation of church and state." ad nauseam. The Church now gets funds ala "Faith based programs" from the federal government, ala Bushie idea, now is involved in Politics, and breaking federal law *harboring an illegal*. Did not Elvira just go thru this? The ACLU who normally hates the Church would now be defending it....wow, I say bring it on....what interesting drama.

Where did the statement, "separation of church and state" come from? Giving taxpayer funding to a church is not illegal. In fact, Congress approved funding for about 25,000 Bibles. The ACLU is a socialist/communist organization who wants to destroy American through their Communist manifesto. Oh, by the way, we are fighting the radical Islamic terrorists AGAIN. Our first war lasted 32 years and spanned four of our first presidents.

I'm not certain who started that slogan as if it were written in the Constitution. The Liberterian Party, aclu*purposely no caps for them*, social liberals types love to make that distinction because they claim religion is attempts to hinder personal freedoms. Hence the Bible is prejudice for teaching certain moral precepts....blah blah blah.

Couldn't agree with you more about the true nature of the aclu.

Would you kindly elaborate on the US previous 32 year war with radical Islam? I am aware of Islam wars around the world to a fair degree.

It is not in the constitution but it is in the supreme court rulings of thomas marshal,When he ruled on the seperation of powers act defining institutional rights,he stated basically so long as the institution acted within it's own founding charter it preceded jurisdiction of intersecting jurisdictions of equal but seperate institution recognized by the federal goverment I.E . the various religions are institution in there own right. In simple terms meathead if the church can show in its founding documents that this charter of sanctuary is fundimental to there faith then it is excemt from current national law in the matter, what I'm saying is stat3e law can seak and apply local justice in this matter but if challenged to the supreme court the court will uphold justice marhalls ruling.
