The justice system is very wack. It 's the unjust judges that are making and passing judgement and they are not living up to par. If police officers and judges can walk away for killing human beings (referring to Micheal Bell) and Michael Vick has to serve time and loose his career behind killing dogs(although it is wrong), then this judge should also loose her career and never pass judgement again. If I am wrong, then I asked the good Lord to forgive me.

Somewhat related: I had jury duty recently and prior to the judge entering the room, the associate made everyone put away cell phones and spit out chewing gum. Then, the judge comes strolling in chewing gum with a phone on his hip. Some judge's truly feel that they are above the law and better than others. If proven guilty, this judge's greed got the best of her. Of course the system is broke if she was allowed to get away with it in the first place. Unsolicited tip: Lead by example |

It's not "against the law" to chew gum or possess a cell phone in a court of law. It is usually the judges' rules to not chew gum or have a cell phone on in their court room - so there's no such thing as "lead by example" in your case, because their rules only apply to those people brought before the udge... and that's perfectly acceptable. There have actually been cases argued in the past wherein people found guilty of crimes later recanted their testimony saying they were misunderstood because of a wad of gum in their mouth... The removal of gum then removes the possibility of this from happening so judges usually adopt that policy. It can also be a complee distraction to talk to someone who has no gum-chewing ettiquette,,, Regarding the cell phones - well, that is simplay a huge distraction... Remember the last time you were in a movie theater and heard a phone ring? |

where was the probate judge at this time. i hear she is absent most of the time and when she is there, she really is not there. when she is there i hear she is more worried about who the county manager is talking to. the curious question is did any of the deceaseds money get missing and will the taxpayer have to pick up the tab to those families.

Have no problem with the rules a judge makes, because, well...they are a judge. Note that this was during juror selection in an administrative area, not a court room. We get lectured about gum & phones; grown adults with enough responsibility to be chosen to act as a juror are led to the trashcan like 4 year olds to "spit". Then, in struts Mr. Judge smacking gum. Would it be too much to honor the very same "request" that you have made of the potential jurors? That was the point I was trying to make. Simple courtesy, but it did make for a good chuckle as he sat behind the table smacking his wad. As far as the mobile, I was happy to leave the PDA in the car; was a nice break. I do not have a problem with phones in public, but more with the idiots that are using them. |

Well, you do know it has ALWAYS been against the law to be be black, intelligent, competent, talented, motivated and hardworking. Unless, it was raking the yard, working in the fields, cooking in the kitchen or raising somebody else's children, or being somebody' mistress. All you had to be back then was female, blue eyes, blond hair, could keep a secret and walk pass the school(not go in) you could get the keys to the bank and didn't have to know how to count on your fingers or money. It's a crying shame that there isn't even one decent, law abiding , God fearing , person of high moral standard serving as police officials and judges in our state.. I just wonder if being a crook is a requirement to be in office... I'm praying for our rulers.

I am agreeing with Tomfoolery on this one. What gets me is some of these sumary court judges ride around with their personal license plates making themselves great targets people they have ruled against.

I didn't realize you needed to be a lawyer to know court room procedures and policies. Hmm. Imagine that! |

You have to look at the requirements to become these lower court Judges. Many times you don't need to be an Attorney. So, you see people in positions because of who they know. |
