Dirty rats, they need to pay people. Times are too hard right now, people need their money. If you miss just one pay check, it sets you back by three trying to play catch up.

This is the risk that us Defense Contractors take. If the company goes under we get screwed.

These people need to get paid for the time they worked, that all there is to it.

I'm sure legal action will pursue on this one.

"Concerned" in Lusby, MD got it right. The Hudecs pulled all of the funding out of the company in order to protect themselves. This is why USProtect couldn’t make payroll. Rich Hudec is being sentenced for defrauding the government. He neglected to inform the government that he had four previous felony convictions when his wife took over ownership of USProtect. Mr. Norman needs to realize that it’s not Wachovia’s job to fund the payroll! All Wachovia did was protect themselves by refusing to extend a line of credit to a company with a VERY shady history. The fact that the majority of the management team in the corporate office was completely inept and under-qualified for the positions they held only made this ship sink faster.

I don't blame Mr. Norman for what happened to USProtect but I do blame the Hudecs for everything. Never were they at the company and yet they took everything. The people who worked there were good people and supported the field staff to the best they could although their corp. office structure was bare. I feel for them and their families. Although the Guards did not get paid they will but the corporate employees will never see a dime.

While Mr. Norman may not be directly responsible for what has happened, he IS responsible for managing the communication with his employees. He knew things were going downhill and never said a word. As recently as last week, he was still telling employees that everything was going to be okay. When the guard population was calling the corporate office to ask about their paychecks, 401(k), benefits, etc., he provided no guidance to his employees regarding how they should respond to the questions. He was a terrible President and a poor manager. I truly feel for the employees and everything they have been put through because of the Hudecs and their accomplice.

I am glad that Justics is being swift; however as former employee of USProtect, and a member os UGSOA Local 52; trying to get its members paid is a nightmare. We are asking for swift and fast justice here. IN all areas, pyaroll, benefits, and 401k. Something smells fishy from Jan 31 payroll, when several pay checks played "NBA", and the next two (2) pay days were only "Hard checks", no Direct Deposits on any of these pay days. They (USProtect) told the Union that they were changing banking systems. Well the truth is out..Those thieves. Well the new compnay came in "PARAGON"..and they have been aorund two (2) decades and they are trying with FPS to get the former employess of USProtect paid.

I pay child support, via payroll deductions, and guess what; they (USProtec) did not pay them. The only thing that is saving me, is my pay stubs, shows that the deductions were taken out, but they (USProtect) took the money and ran. Thieves..

It's the fault of Bill Clinton, Al Gore and that corrupt regime who fired all of the hard working government employees who had always done exemplary jobs at protecting the federal courthouses and government buildings. They sold out America's security by contracting out the government's responsibility to private companies with the lowest bid. Just like Clinton sold out America and America's security when he signed the capitulationary NAFTA treaty that allowed his voting block of illegal aliens into this country. And for profit entities like the AFGE and the teamsters and the AFL-CIO just puffed on their cigars and cheered Clinton on. So sorry for all those fine CSO's and the rest of the guys because I know so many of them in this area and they are and always have be great workers, though the u.s. Marshals treat them as second class or even steerage class workers. I really hope and would expect the government to make good with their 401-K accounts. For that matter, I think that the Congress should be put under the same 401-K program that non-government employees have to better enable them to connect with their constituency.

What are they doing to get these people paid? That's a months worth of pay these people lost and if the government is seizing assets, why are they not paying these people?

There's money in the 401Ks, they're just not releasing it. If they'd release it these people could at least have something to live on!

I agree with Irving TX, Mr. Norman was responsible to the employees of the company. Further, Mr. Norman lacked the leadership experience to lead this type of company as did the rest of the management team at Silver Spring. It has been rumored that Mr. Norman was a long time friend of the Hudecs (Hummmm.).

Mr. Norman is responsible for the most chaos because on Thursday (pay day) he advised everyone that he is aware of the problem and he is working with the bank to resolve the issues with the bank……….He could have been honest but he sided with Hudecs……. I wondered what was the price for him to sell his integrity was. Hudecs got millions and since Mr. Norman was their friend ……… something is stink

When Hudec pled guilty in October that should have expedited the biding on the contracts. A faster transition would may have prevented this mess!. It gave them time to loot the company and play havoc with the pay checks of the employees. The should have been out by Nov 30, 2008 but NO they kept getting exteded (hmm).

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Virgo

It's a rather low-key day with a few disappointments to cope with along the way. If you were looking forward to a social event, such as meeting up with friends, it may fail to live up to your expectations. It might even be delayed or postponed through no fault of your own. There could also be problems about how much something is going to cost, forcing you to scale down your plans to make them more affordable.
