Well its true finally some good news as of the first of the year gates will be owned by Dayton. pay cuts and layoffs are expected.

what a lie. gates is not laying off they are working overtime and there has been no pay cuts

lol well i hope this is'nt true. It would'nt make alot of since considering we all have been working double time for over three weeks now.

hats off to the person who posted it at gates. that way all employees will know that there is rumors going around while you all continue working overtime and pulling the weight for people like the rumor starter. maybe that person can spare some time to give you all a break from the hard labor you do.

Any transaction that large would need approval by the securities and exchange commission. Also, The Wall Street Journal covers all business dealings as large as this one would be.

As far as checking with management at the work place; well, forget it. The first line on their job description is probably: "Protect the company's assets or lose your job". They ain't talkin'.

I did a limited search and couldn't find anything except for the old news about the first sale of Gates to Tomkins in 1996. I think the key words "Dayco acquires Gates" would be at the top of the page, but it wasn't there at all. Don't think it's happenin'. Rumors are ugly and usually way off the mark if there is any truth to them at all.
