Lowes in Sikeston is pathetic. In the past 2 months, I've had 3 horrible experiences. The only reason I went back is there is nowhere else to go besides menards in cape. I was in there about a month ago and there was 1 checkout open. There were 6 employees standing around talking. They completely ignored me. After about a minute, one of them looked at me and said "it will be a minute." they kept talking Are you serious? I went and found the manager I was so upset. I got a measly apology. Went there again for a large purchase that had to be made in a pinch. NO one offered to help. I bet I saw 10 red vests walking around, talking on phones, no one asked us for any help. From now on, I'll drive the 40 minutes to menards or find another place to go. I foresee lowes in Sikeston going under in the next 12 months.

Sorry that hapened to you however there are a few of us red vests that do try and when we are on the phone it is with a customer unless of corse it is a cell phone which is not supposed to be allowed but is abused by some.
A big part of the problem is they hire a lot of young people who were never taught that you are supposed to EARN the dollar you make and trust me it makes some of us very angry that MANAGEMENT continues to allow it.

This is the way of many businesses now.No work ethic from some is making it hard on the ones who do work hard. Same at the place I work. We are suppose to have a strict cell phone policy but everywehere you look employees are texting or talking on their cell phones when they should be working or paying attention to the customers.They have to get their facebook fix every few seconds,also.

Management is the key to success or failure.
Lowe's is a poor example of how a business should be run.
Twelve more months max. for the Sikeston and possibly the Cape stores.

thank you for caring. I thought it was odd that the store was completely dead, but there sure were a lot of people talking on phones to whoever.

You are right....management IS the key. I went there this morning....auto checkouut was not working and NO registers were open. I had to ask a group of employees if someone could take my money. One woman walked to a register (with an attitude) and waved me over. I told her that I wanted to use my debit card as credit. She said "YOU have to do that!" (With an attitude) I responded that I was aware that I had to swipe my own card...I just wanted her to know the manner in which I intended to use it. She gave a LOOK....ALL ATTITUDE.

I will still return to Lowes...occasionally I need something on the weekend and don't want to drive to Cape for some minor item. Next time I go, however, I will meet attitude WITH attitude.

When Lowe's closes (and it will), you'll be making the trip anyway.

The one in cape is just as bad. My dad had a cart full of stuff at lowes and was met by horrible service. He asked for the manager. he told them since it was a free country, he'd exercise his right to choose and he chose menards. Walked out of the store without his stuff and went straight to menards and got great service.

As a resident of Cape and a past customer of Lowe's, I believe everything your dad went through.

I also had the employees chatting experience while customers were waiting to check out.

Lowes is a great place to look at woman. They have some fine looking woman working there. I have been in last two days and seen this very sweet and hot ass brunette working. I am not sure of her name could never get close enough. Wonder if she is single.

I'm 57 looking for a young girl to have some fun with ,, some work in lowes any takers.
