I normally get my boyfriends family a gift. One gift that went over well was a dinner platter. You can buy a nice one or I went to one of those pottery shops where you paint the platter yourself. They kindle it and it turns out great. Also chrismtas themed gifts are always safe..try a personalized tree ornament or one year I made a gift basket personalized to them. They loved it. Good luck

I'd suggest shopping here for the 2 year old: http://www.etsy.com/category/children...
This is a great way to get awesome things for kids. It supports work at home parents, puts some money in their pocket, and you get great items handcrafted by these artists. Most of them are more than reasonable in their cost and the toys in this site are fabulous. They're gentle on little hands and can be used for many years to come after purchase. |

@girlfriend if you feel too threatened by this mans daughter maybe you should date someone without kids. Are you really getting jealous of a 13 year old girl? hmm...

This topic cracked me up. My suggestion for 'girlfriend' would be DUMP THE LOSER. But, if you must stick with him, perhaps you should have him over to your place for Christmas WITHOUT his daughter )(like when she's having Christmas with her birth mommy) and then you could give him his "special" present. Then, send home something for the brat like some nail polish or costume jewelry or something. If he doesn't treat you right, move on down the road..........plenty of fish in the sea.

Alot has happened in a year. He's been told how it's going to be, didn't like what he was told, and decided to try dating someone else. His daughter wasn't thrilled with this, kept in touch with me, called me to go shopping, come to her school events, or just to talk about girl stuff. Her birth mother isn't in the picture at all. His daughter told me she didn't like having to open his presents because it's stupid! He finally decided to grow up and act like a father and a man once his daughter told him she would rather live with ME! Now the 3 of us live together and she and I gang up on him when need be! And for the record, I was never jealous of his daughter, just found it rediculous that he had her open his gifts, and not just at Chirstmas either, but birthdays, etc.
